Tuesday of week 19 and numbers were little changed week-on-week. Seven was up slightly while 10 dripped. Seven won all markets. Melbourne was the closest with Seven just 0.1% ahead of 10 and 1.2% ahead of Nine. 10 finished in first place in all key demos.

MasterChef was above one million again, down slightly from the previous week while House Rules managed to lift above 500k for only the second time on a Tuesday this season.

How To Stay Married did well for 10, ranking in the top 5 in 16-39 and winning its timeslot. The result compared to the 2018 season one debut that had 512,000 and the final episode of that season that had 253,000. Hamish And Andy was again 5th at 7.30pm for Nine while later First Dates Australia also failed to impress for Seven.

Yes, Nine don’t need the NRL …

If Seven can take advantage of Nine’s lazy programming on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it should have a small chance of finally winning a week this year.
MasterChef did well for 10 again.

They wouldnt have it on a Tuesday anyway, so wouldn’t change this result.

That would be wise of them but it doesn’t look like they will. Next Tuesday they’ve got a weird Tiger King special which is nothing more than filler and then triple Home and Away plus movie on Thursday. Only Fridays/Saturdays seem fairly reasonable.

Did Nine strip Lego Masters back to twice a week to preserve episodes and extend how long it is on air by a week or two?

The references during Lego Masters don’t support any change of schedule. E.g. referring to “tomorrow’s show” would not be consistent if the schedule had changed from 3 nights a week to the present 2. Unless they have dubbed the audio that is - but it doesn’t seem that way.

Exactly, and there’s little point having high rating sport (or anything for that matter) if you aren’t making more in ad revenue out of it than what it costs you to obtain the rights and produce/broadcast it.

Fair - i haven’t noticed as I watch it on catch up as i prefer to watch Masterchef Live and i’ve only just finished week 2’s episodes.

So Seven wins Tuesday. They really didn’t need to drop House Rules from Tuesdays like they will next week.

How did NCIS fare in the 9pm slot?

They are repeats as the current season has finished. It rated around the 200k mark.

10 is repeating season 16 of NCIS from the beginning, for the second time. I remember seeing last night’s episode in October last year.

Yeah I knew they were repeats. But it rated decently across its hour last week at 8:30.

NCIS ranked 32nd.

So not great in the later slot. Its not a great flow from How to Stay Married to NCIS. I did wonder whether How to Stay Married would have been better suited to Thursdays - only issue was the Masterclass episodes on that night.

That Nine press release says Nine News was favourite in Sydney but it actually lost to 7 over the hour. Seems to be a regular occurrence too.
