#2

Big Bang Marathons really helping 9GO’s shares.

7Mate should counter program with Simpsons marathon :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Only joking of course, but by the looks of things it wouldn’t surprise me in the future.

#3

Ambulance Australia doing great work for Channel Ten. It’s one of the most successful new factual series launches in recent years, alongside Paramedics on Nine. Seven is no longer home of the biggest hits in this genre.

The Good Doctor continues to do heavy lifting on Seven, building on lead-in and dominating its timeslot.Little Big Shots US got off to an okay start, topping Family Food Fail.

#4

That’s not great for Little Big Shots. Having a weaker lead-out drags Home & Away below 600k. Also dragged The Good Doctor down.

#5

Great effort from Ambulance Australia to lift its audience by 250k from its lead in.

#6

Not bad ratings for Neighbours at this time of year.

#7

Why is this a joke? It is a credible programming option for 7mate and would be likely to dominate the younger multichannel demos. The Simpsons has been criminally underused by Seven, it seems like they only have access to Seasons 10-15 and the new season.

#8

So, not programming The Simpsons in multiple timeslots on multiple nights is criminal now?

#9

I think we need to remember it is now summer ratings hiatus and Seven have changed 7mate and 7flix programming accordingly from this week and next week, I don’t think they’re aiming for top ratings, more like saving the good stuff until next year rolls around. If you look at most channels this week, it’s pretty boring and dire, re-runs or overseas galore. Aussie factual a shining light though.

#10

Wow. Not a good night for Seven News Melbourne. And just as the new boss arrives. :sunglasses:

#11

Perfect time to start cleaning the mess then.

#12

Well he hasn’t actually arrived he starts with Seven in the new year.

#13

10 have found a new style of show that works for it’s audience and the younger demographics in primetime. I don’t usually watch factuals but I am hooked on Ambulance - it is just done so well. If they can get a couple of shows like this paired with some of their tentpole shows next year it could be a much better year for Ten.

#14

Are you seriously saying less people watched Home and Away last night because they didn’t like the show that aired after it? Sounds silly to me.

#15

I’m saying that less people tuned in to watch Little Big Shots so therefore Home & Away didn’t benefit at all by being a lead-out program. You obviously have never heard of the lead-out phenomenon. It has been discussed her over the years at great length.

When a huge show like My Kitchen Rules, Masterchef or The Block screen, viewers tune in early waiting for it to start. The lead out programs benefit immensely from those viewers tuning in early. Home & Away, The Project and A Current Affair all get boosted by the programs that follow.

#16

I think the reason that Home and Away is struggling is because it is so inconsistent, particularly with all the double/triple episodes at this time of the year. It is slowly killing the show off. To almost being beaten by the Chase at 5pm is pretty bad. I think next year both shows should swap timeslots (even if it means making shorter and faster paced Chase episodes), the Chase would be doing better than H&A is doing at 7pm and provide better lead ins/out than H&A is.

#17

The Chase was trialled but failed in prime time. 7pm or was it 7.30pm?

#18

That was just summer filler 2 or 3 odd weeks (i.e. not a consistent timeslot) and also wasn’t the Chase still on at 5pm weeknights in addition to the extra shows? That’s more of an overkill affect than anything. I still think a faster paced 7pm show would do better than Home and Away but it’s a bit of a catch 22 because they don’t want to ruin what’s working for them at 5pm either.

#19

What about Today Tonight?

#20

The good doctor continues to do well for US dramas. Little big shots did ok as well, surprisngly.
