Another clear win for Nine ahead nationally and in all markets except Perth. All three reality shows drop from Monday’s numbers. Ten does well in the demos with Bachelor in Paradise backing up. Good result for SBS with Who Do You Think You Are. 10 and SBS have their best Tuesdays of the survey. Seven has its lowest Tuesday result so far with House Rules is in trouble with poor total people and demos.

Looks like Lego Masters will stabilise at around 1 million mark before audience goes up.
BIP held its audience despite the late start and post-10.30pm finish. MasterChef falling close to season 5 audience level (which was among the worst in the franchise’s history on Australian TV).
Seven News won in Melbourne again - just. Embarrassing for House Rules to be outrated even by a new episode of TBBT. With no Lego Masters tonight, Seven will be hoping for HR to pick up extra viewers.

What’s on 9 at 5pm? How far off the 5pm Chase is it?

Very interesting news numbers. ABC ahead of STW both with ACA like for like and bulletin for bulletin 7pm to 6pm. Similar in Adelaide too.

Third in Sydney but ok. Gangbusters in Melb where it’s number one.

Struggling of course in Brisbane. Still ask why???

Very high numbers for QTQ news. Interesting to see HSV news pulling in front of GTV at 6pm.

Bachelor in Paradise did pretty well at 8:30 for 10. Masterchef drops. Is that its lowest figures ever? House Rules also continues to drop. Positive for 10 is that Masterchef is being competitive in the demos and beating House Rules. But 10 would have been expecting more.

#6

Whilst Bachelor in Paradise was down on last Tuesday, it did well to sustain most of the audience considering it ran until 10.30pm. Maybe next year this is how Ten should use the show, run it 2 or 3 nights a week off the back of Masterchef or another tent pole show. It gives them overall a larger audience share for the night. Also in a way it kinder feels like it is more suited to a more later timeslot.

Hot Seat starts at 5pm on Nine - both it and The Chase are split into 2 entries for ratings purposes. The Chase beats Hot Seat at 5pm by the same margin as at 5.30.

No - several episodes in series 5 rated lower.

Have Seven run out of money? I haven’t seen any advertising for House Rules whatsoever, clearly evident by the figures it’s achieving along with their stunt of running the MKR finale after it and probably pissing their audience off in the process.

#9

I guess 7 are in a much more privileged position. They have the AFL every weekend. And yes the promos were running constantly. The show has been like this for years now.

I have seen House Rules banner ads on the Herald Sun website in the last 2-3 weeks.

#11

whats STW???

#12

Positive news for soap fans - Home and Away recorded its equal highest result so far this year and Neighbours was number one in 2 of the key demos.

10Bold topped the multichannels - and to dispel some misconceptions as to the demo performance, it was the number one multichannel in 25-54 and number 2 in 16-39.

I’m sick of radio adverts for House Rules! - (Ahh just heard one now while typing). Not sure about any outdoor advertising though.

I’m surprised Lego is holding up as well as it is. I’d have figured below a million by episode 3. Maybe next week.

Masterchef in trouble already. Viewers already have fatigue with Bachelor In Paradise, with so many other (better?) shows in the genre.

House Rules is following the trend of previous seasons and doing very average. There have been heaps of promos for it on Seven and elsewhere. I think they needed to cut back the renovations shown. Make it one episode of renovations. One episode of the last minute renos and judges scoring. And one episode of the householders seeing the finished product and scoring. One hour each. Any more than that is too much.

Who Do You Think you Are always does well for SBS. Maybe their biggest local show every year?

#14

I think if you compare Masterchefs % (not just ratings) to season 5, against the timeslot on 7 and 9 you’ll see its still much higher than what season 5 would’ve been pulling. And that’s what 10 would be comparing also.

BIP did better than expected at 8:42pm especially considering it ran for close to 2hrs. Perhaps 10 should consider scheduling it 8:30pm, after MC but sticking to a tight 1hr format next season.

9 Network at 5:00 PM is Millionaire Hot Seat. Both MHS and The Chase Australia split their 60-minute programs into 2 x 30-minute segments for ratings purposes.

I too am interested in how far off MHS is from TCA between 5:00 and 5:30 PM.

I wonder why Nine gave one of their biggest stars, Scott Cam, permission to appear on Who Do You Think You Are? when they refused to allow Richard Wilkins to appear for a few minutes on Hughesy We Have A Problem to respond to Tony Martin’s apology for his description of Wilkins as a “shit-house red carpet interviewer” in one of his books? WDYTYA only had 150,000+ more viewers than Hughesy (first airing) this week.

You’d think Nine would be trying to get as much exposure for the embattled Today show as possible. Having stars appear on rival networks would be free publicity for their own show. You’d think it would be Ten that wouldn’t want to give Nine the free publicity. That’s the way it used to work.

Why would 10 compare it to Season 5? How about last year? It’s down 15% on TP & is down about 10% on last year’s percentages.

:joy: They might be thinking ‘at least we aren’t as bad as we were 6 years ago’. But I agree absolute spin if @ekane thinks 10 are going to compare this season to the lowest season, being season 5.
