10 records its best Tuesday share in seven weeks and wins the key demos. Nine has a narrow win in the 5 cities plus the east coast markets.

The Amazing Race tops the entertainment programs easily winning its timeslot. 620,000 for the program was the best Tuesday number of the series and the winner’s announcement segment was a series high.

10 News at 6pm was slightly down on Monday but rated 34% (60,000) higher than Celebrity did the previous Tuesday. Seems to be doing particularly well in Perth with the potential to damage Nine News in that market (IMO).

Seven’s one hour news records big numbers at 6.30 in Perth where it is the city’s number one program as well as Adelaide.

In the multichannels 10Peach was the number one in 25-54 while 7Flix topped 16-39.

Wow that would be a fantastic win for 10. If I’m correct, I think something similar happened in 2011 when they had a 6PM bulletin then too?

The Amazing Race finale rated well but could have been higher. For the record, the audience figures for the finales of the previous three seasons of TARA on Seven were:
season 1: 1,195,000
season 2: 976,000
season 3: 416,000
Seven News made gains in the second half in all cities except Adelaide.
The repeat of Cruel Intentions movie on 7flix reached the top 5 in younger demos in multichannels.

This is what happened in 2011. 10 did well in Perth at 6pm. Often pushing 9 news to 3rd place some nights.

So for significantly less money to produce than CNG, it gains 34% more viewers so all in all it is positive signs for this change. Sounds like a sensible move.

Be careful you will get things thrown at you for saying such things. 250k is apparently a huge success now. I have no idea why 10 bothered cancelling Changing Rooms.

Except Celebrity name game is still airing at 6pm, just brushed off on another channel, so right now the expenditure is up, but for long term gains, it could be worth it.

True, they are already in the can. Enough episodes until April. But yes eventually it will be cheaper.

In context, it is an improvement. Is it a hit? No. Has the slot grown? Yes. Is it sustainable and cost effective? Yes. So it is a success within context and it would be cheap content for better ratings than before no matter how miniscule.

The Amazing Race episode itself didn’t really get much of a boost on a lot of other episodes, only picking up some extra audience for the end. Next season will need to be a lot better production and location wise if they want to build momentum.

Yeah 600k for the main part of the final isn’t fantastic… But it has done ok for 10. The demos (around 350k average in 25-54 and 300k in 18-49) is sustainable but I don’t know if I would be happy with just ok. The positive is it is winning the night in those demos. But it isn’t up against much to really gauge whether it has been a success.

You’re a fruit loop. No one is saying that in general terms… but from a timeslot which was sinking below 200k, it is a positive sign.

Ch 10 would be happy with the TARA figures, but I wonder how much higher they would’ve been had they not done that second U-turn and the boys were still in it. I am a huge fan of the show and I’m pretty much glued to the tv when the show is on, but I found I wasn’t as interested last night. I recorded it so I can watch it later (and fast forward the dull bits) but I didn’t think the second U-turn was fair.

Good figures for Love on the Spectrum. Not everyone’s cup of tea but a very interesting show.

I think 10 would be happy with The Amazing Race numbers. It was consistently a to p 10 performers in key demos each week - last week ranking 3 and 4th in each demo. Considering the long list of failed show launches across networks in recent years, it’s a great result.

This season was done on the cheap. Visiting 6 countries, no prizes given away except for $4000 and a holiday to NT and was poorly organised. The biggest cost for Ten would have been the license to the show. I think Ten would be happy overall considering the show did well in the demos for the entirety of it’s run. But I hope the 2nd season has an increase in budget and planning.

Yes. Even 6pm Simpsons used to beat Nine News Perth.

Nine News Perth is a good example for 10 News First at 6 of what happens if you leave something in the same timeslot in the hope of improvement. Nine News Perth is a constant embarrassment.

TV Tonight points out that the Celebrity Name Game episodes on 10 Bold are repeats and that the new episodes probably won’t start again until official ratings begin again next year. The past two nights it rated less than what Judge Judy did last week.

Yeah, i assumed that Celebrity Name Game were new episodes too. But since its repeats, and on Bold, no wonder it is getting less than what Judge Judy was getting (although it is by a small amount).

Seven did average numbers last night, without the cricket. Border Patrol and Border Security International - great filler programs there! lol.

It will be interesting to see if 10’s 6pm news has any implications for the ratings of Seven and Nine’s bulletins.

Last night for example Seven Brisbane recorded its third lowest audience of the year and Nine in Brisbane had their lowest Tuesday audience since January while Nine nationally has its worst Tuesday result for the year at 6pm with the 6.30 portion rating higher.

It is said that there are no co-incidences
