#2

Apologies for the delay in delivery today - OzTAM email server problems.

#3

Same as usual.

Hughesy does alright for 10 standards, Good Doctor drops but still helped Seven to win.

#4

Married at First Sight and MKR down a bit from Monday’s season premieres, but Hughesy suffered a big drop from last year’s debut.

#5

Married At First drops (48k) from debut and now below one million. Will it drop further?

I’m A Celeb dropped from Monday too (71k). Hughesy, We Have A Problem doing alright for Ten.

My Kitchen Rules remains steady from launch (-2k). The Good Doctor has dropped quite far from its huge success last year.

#6

From yesterdays results:

MAFS down only 48k, MKR down 2000, Celeb took the biggest hit, down 71k. Hughsey debuts do decent numbers for its late-ish start.

7 and their multi channels manages to get the network win. 7food doesnt rate that well, but its 0.5 rating last night may have just contributed to the .2% win.

#7

Hughesy had its fourth highest rating ever. Rarely does a show match its premiere or build on it.

MKR audience starting to skew very old with younger viewers preferring MAFS and Celeb.

#8

Seven will be relieved MKR held all of its debut audience.
Assuming these figures are consistent across almost the whole episode, it’s also beating ACA, which is something H&A rarely achieved in recent times.

#9

So it appears the increased reality competition has had a little impact on I’m a celeb but its still doing OK. Hughesy did well for a show that went past 10pm.

I’m actually surprised that MKR remained above 800k but you’ve got to wonder how much longer people will be able to commit to 2 hour episodes every night.

#10

You realise I’m A Celeb is not that far off that length either. It’s scheduled for 90 minutes but has been going over every night by up to 15-20 minutes. It’s a huge commitment for any show and it’s hurting any show that might screen afterwards.

See.

#11

Not every night and there is some excuse for a live show to run late - last night Celebrity finished at 9:07.

#12

I don’t think there are many excuses for any show to run late. Celebrity is mainly prerecorded. It could be condensed. Networks would not get away with that in other countries.

#13

Exactly right. Producers know what they’re doing - Australian television has some of the best in the world and they can make a show run to time, live or not. It’s a deliberate tactics deployed by desperate networks that seem content on pissing audiences off and ruining engagement with the free-to-air television. People already prefer to pause and watch on demand, so unreliable scheduling and overblown episodes will only hurt the free to air tv industry more now and into the future.

#14

I don’t know why anyone would watch any show live to air on FTA apart from live sport. Much easier to record and skip 4 minute blocks of ads/episode recaps etc. For example, I watched the 2 hour premiere of MAFS in about 55 minutes.

#15

What do you need to record it? I watched MAFS delayed on 9Now and live last night via the same platform. But I don’t think i’ve got a device that allows me to record the tv.

#16

He skips the ads. Aren’t you forced to watch the ads that way?

#17

Exactly !!! with the exception of sport, I never watch live TV, by watching it later that day/next day I save 16 minutes of adverts & promo’s each hour, and usually more if you can skip re-caps etc.

#18

See if I don’t watch live tv I generally forget to catch up on it.

#19

Yes I’m saying I don’t have IQ or a device that allows me to record via the tv. And I’m not the most tech savvy person obviously.

#20

If you buy a Fetch box, you can scroll through an onscreen TV guide and Tag shows to record. Or set it up as a Series Tag and it will keep recording every episode.
