Nine’s winning streak continues, last night winning nationally and the three east coast markets. For the second night in a row, 10 won the three key demo groups (main channel and network). The Block and Survivor were up from last week while Seven suffered another catastrophic failure to launch as the dreadful The Proposal gets what it deserved missing the top 20 in 21st place. Demos for The Proposal saw it rank lower than ABC’s Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds. Survivor again beat The Block in the demos.

The Proposal is now one of the biggest flops of 2019, joining the likes of Sunday Night Takeaway, Changing Rooms, The Super Switch, Blue Water Empire and Celebrity Name Game.
First time Survivor attracted 800,000 viewers two nights in a row since the show came to 10.
Old People’s Homes for 4 Year Olds did OK on debut. Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly and Seachange both dipped from last week.

Ouch for the proposal on 7.

Based on the social media reaction to The Proposal - many seemed to be watching just for the car crash nature of the show and won’t be back next week. Another big advertising budget from Seven wasted on a flop.

I don’t know what goes wrong, but shows on channel 7 that are clearly designed to attract a younger audience come off feeling as if they’d been created by someone’s daggy 60 year old uncle who thinks he knows what the kids these days like.

Glad that The Proposal flopped for Seven. Am over these sort of shows (and looks like others are too).

And I think its time to stop airing these Dogs Behaving Badly shows (aka pet youtube shows) in primetime - at least until the summer season.

Looks like a lot of non-Survivor or Block fans scanned the multi-channels, all but two of the non-ABC/SBS ones over 2%.
Is that 7flix’s highest Tuesday share all year @TV.Cynic?

Just when you thought there shouldn’t be anymore ‘flops’, here comes The Proposal. I can now understand why Kerry Stokes wanted a ‘change’ ASAP.

Hopefully Seven has learned their lesson now and stop coming up with anymore relationship/dating based reality shows.

The problem is because Seven’s lineup is so bare for various reasons (lack of a proper strategy, holding back on certain shows, etc), they’re essentially running a late-November/Summer style schedule in August. They’re rightly reaping what they sow…

To be honest, everyone bar seemingly Seven’s programming department (yet again) could see that it was going to be a flop from a country mile away

Good to see The Proposal DOA. Seven should be absolutely ashamed that it received less viewers than Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds (which to be fair, sounds like a decent enough show) on the ABC!

I agree, although realistically they won’t for as long as rubbish like MAFS and The Bachelor/ette continues to smash it for Nine & Ten respectively.

Seven is suffering big time from copying others reality shows.

Seven need to stop with relationship or dating shows. The Proposal was tacky and those ratings are horrible.

Probably will be sold to Netflix ? perhaps…

As I have said before I think 7’s issue is they aren’t copying the other dating shows enough. There dating shows are always so negative and is about heartbreak and breaking up rather than trying to find the fairytale romance.

Why didn’t they just revive Beauty and the Geek?

Agree I think Beauty and the Geek would have a lot more potential now.

Seven need to look at buying a format from overseas. Seven have been relying too much on its in house production company. 7 studios have had great success in the past, but recently all they’ve been doing is copying other reality formats. The public aren’t stupid.

Whoever past on Legomasters at seven was an idiot.

You do realise that The Proposal is an overseas format?

And I remember saying way back in January (not sure which forum) 7 would have tough competition when The Ashes came along. It rated hugely on Gem last time. 7 should’ve been ready…
