The Data may not be reproduced, published or communicated (electronically or in hard copy) in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of OzTAM. “Overnight” figures include “Live” (programs broadcast during the 2am-2am broadcast day) and “As Live” (programs recorded and then watched within the same broadcast day). “Consolidated” figures include Live, As Live and “Time Shift” (programs recorded and then watched within seven days of the initial broadcast).

Nine, Seven and SBS were up from last Tuesday, 10 and ABC were down. While Nine’s main channel lifted by 1 point, most other differences were in multichannel shares.

Nine won all markets except Perth were Seven won. Nine also won the key demographics with 10 ranked second.

Both The Block and Masked Singer had more viewers than Monday with the reveal on the latter the top rated entertainment number. Seven’s Royal programming ranked 4th at 7.30

Halifax Retribution didn’t set any ratings records but was a timeslot winner with 544,000, on par with results for recent Australian drama premiers. In 25-54 it ranked 11th just below Home and Away. In 16-39 it was 12th. No doubt it will pick up extra viewers with consolidated viewing.

Halifax: Retribution rated better than Between Two Worlds, that’s the main thing.

Hopefully it stays that way or goes up. A shame it wasn’t higher as it’s probably one of the best series I’ve seen on TV in a while!

Halifax: Retribution deserved better. Good show, strong cast and I loved the fantastic shots of Melbourne. Good timing to show how beautiful Melbourne is to people interstate (although we don’t normally have a sniper on the loose!).

Inside the crown got the figures it deserves. From the small bits I saw it just seemed like the same stories we’ve seen before repackaged into a new show.

Haven’t watched Halifax yet. But not a shocking start. The block seems down quite significantly this year.

I think nine should look at partnering up more often with Stan. Have the series go to air first on the streaming platform. The next week nine can air weekly episodes.

I reckon the genre and storyline of Hungry Ghosts is too niche.

Last year the show also had a slow start before picking up viewers in the final weeks leading up to the auction.

Even in a pandemic where a major city is locked down and a prime time Aussie drama with a not bad (but not as big as they would have hoped) lead in and it barley cracks half a million viewers for its first episode. It’s a sad state of affairs for Aussie drama on FTA.

I think Nine would have been expecting more from the Block as on the surface it seems to be down somewhat significantly this season too. Definitely their most ages reality format so not a surprise I guess.

Pandemic or not, I can’t for the life of me understand why any right minded person would watch a commercial TV drama live to air. Watching it back on 9Now or whatever with significantly less ads if the far more attractive option.

I think it’s a sad state for any drama these days. Hardly any imports do much better. The networks have conditioned viewers to tune out of FTA after early evening reality shows. The only hope is that these shows find an audience in consolidated and streaming views.

It’s a shame because Aussie dramas still do well overseas. We don’t seem to treat them with the same respect they deserve. Crazy scheduling having the only other Aussie FTA drama series in prime time this week Hungry Ghosts, up against the second half ofHalifax too.

Did well for today’s standards, which is somewhat encouraging for Australian drama.

Seven needs to drop the royal rubbish quick smart (I hear it’s on again at 8.30 next week). No one wants to see stories about the royals over and over again and the ratings prove it. Show some factuals if they really want to.

Worth mentioning that Desperate Housewives - ranked in 4th place on Monday, though not too bad but on Tuesday the number dropped almost 50%. If that is maintained, I can’t see it lasting very long.

It’s probably time for Nine to start thinking about life after The Block (although I still think that show should’ve been rested a good 4-5 years ago)!

Aside from that, it’s a bit worrying that the TV ratings haven’t been higher of late given the fact we’re still in Winter, the middle of a pandemic and that Melbourne is currently being told to stay home of an evening.

Ten will be reasonably satisfied with how The Masked Singer is performing, Anh’s Brush With Fame did alright for the ABC, but that’s about it really.

Agreed. No more repeats of that ABBA special either!

It’s funny to note that Seven News Sydney managed to win the 6:00 timeslot (by such a little margin). However Nine Sydney managed to regain at 6:30. It was the same story in Brisbane.

some competition for free to air and the streamers 770,000 tune in to watch the penguin parade

Nine wouldn’t be too concerned as long as they’re still winning nights, though the ratings are slightly concerning. Competition this year has certainly affected the show in different ways.

If Plate of Origin does well next week (unlikely, but then again Seven managed to restore a cold turkey in Farmer Wants a Wife so I suppose anything can happen) then The Block will be in trouble.

The Block always starts off soft and builds as the season goes.

The Block is rating lower than expected. People are finally sick of it? Sure, its not rating terribly, but its not that great either.

Halifax did okay. A shame that Australian dramas dont rate as well as they used too. Episode 1 did okay. Episode 2 did well for the 9.30 slot.
