The Data may not be reproduced, published or communicated (electronically or in hard copy) in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of OzTAM. “Overnight” figures include “Live” (programs broadcast during the 2am-2am broadcast day) and “As Live” (programs recorded and then watched within the same broadcast day). “Consolidated” figures include Live, As Live and “Time Shift” (programs recorded and then watched within seven days of the initial broadcast).

Tuesday produced the closest overnight result since the start of the Australian Open with Nine just 2 points ahead of Seven in network shares and three on the main channel as the tennis took a dip and the cricket improved.

The second night session of the Australian Open was the best for the tennis while the night session was down on recent result with the pre match session also making the top 20.

At 6pm Seven News was a massive 260k in the lead as the bulletin was the highest rated of any so far this year. It followed The Chase posting a 2023 high audience. Seven won all markets with Nine News producing an especially poor result in Perth. Home and Away took second place at 7pm while the BBL result was the 10th best this season, notably higher than any game since the start of the Australian Open.

Third-placed 10 saw The Bachelors post its highest Tuesday result of the season, just under 300k with the usual Project and News also in the top 20.

ABC’s new Tuesday line up bombed. While ABC news did very well at 7pm, 7.30 was down leading into the new programming. Better Date Than Never managed 265,000 with Australia’s Wild Odyssey just making the top 20. By way of comparison, Love on the Spectrum, a similar genre to Better Date Than Never was regularly rating around 450k. ABC will be hoping for some catch up viewing with all episodes available on iView.

The BBL beat the tennis in Adelaide despite the match result (Strikers losing to Renegades and therefore missing the finals). That match was the most-watched entertainment program in Adelaide.

Nine easily won the three east coast markets. Seven’s improved performance was as a result of an 18-point win in Adelaide while Seven again won Perth. Nine was 10-15 points ahead in the key demos.

Some very interesting numbers here - Bold and the Beautiful quite high at #22 beating 10 News First 6pm and The Project 6.30pm. Nine News Perth seems extremely low; beaten by almost every program in the top 20!

TBH I thought Nine News might have fared better or overtaken Seven in the eastern states with the AO going on.

Nine News did a lot better during the AO last year on the east coast.

Yesterday this was a problem - with a low lead in.

I thought the Bachelors would have rated higher in these final shows so that is again a disappointment.

At least Ten hit the minimum acceptable standard of 14% share.

The Project seems to making an effort to be a little less woke which should help their numbers in coming weeks because the Sydney audience has picked up

What do have ten lose by moving Bold to a later time slot? If it’s pulling viewers might be worth throwing in at 6pm instead. #thinkoutsidethebox

BATB in prime time has been tried unsuccessfully before. There would also be the problem of replacing a successfully show at 4.30pm that gives a good lead in to 5pm news. It also tends to does skew old in linear numbers, though it does very well on 10Play (top 10 BVOD last week). Also, News at 6pm gets almost double the 25-54 audience. So lots of things to consider.

“Woke” - a term the right uses to describe anything the don’t like.
Have literally butchered the meaning of the word.

You are funny. Just because The Project is rating better, you’re trying to make it suit your narrative.

They just did stories on companies allowing staff to work on Australia Day and take a different day off followed by a discussion on “Change the Date”. Then they did the story about conservatives losing their minds about M&Ms supposedly being woke because they are less sexy.

I don’t really see this supposed difference to The Project this year.
