Maybe the 10pm AEST Paralympics coverage should be on the main channel, not 7mate.

What timespan the early part cover? E.g. 9.25pm-10.30pm ?

I agree. I think it’s really good later night viewing and could gain momentum with a s strong lead in. I also wonder if it would be better in a slightly shorter format but a couple of night’s a week. I find that I usually tune in for the first half or so and then stop.

That’s even lower than the last new episode before the mid-season break in September 2020 (65,000).

Tipping Point making the top 20 makes me question Australian viewers intelligence.

I don’t get the reason for the drop. The show is still as good as ever.

Maybe but there’s no shortage of topical comedies on TV and they’ve never done well in Total People. Whereas The Hundred is a new format and may appeal to a wider audience.

What a mixed bag

And 7 should be worried… they need to revamp their afternoon lineup.

I’m a big fan of the show but with episodes available on demand there is no urgency/incentive to watch it “live to air” with ad breaks. I’ll wait a few weeks and start watching whenever the time suits.

There are no ad breaks during the show

Nine are doing well, but except in 7.30 slot, The Block is really underperforming and they are worried.

I agree.

With Larry Emdur (a presenter considerably more popular than AOK or Eddie with most) reinvigorating The Chase Australia for Seven, surely Nine have to be considering the future of their 5pm timeslot.

From what I’ve seen, Tipping Point is a pretty basic gameshow.

But probably one likely to rate at 5pm, especially since “Guess the amount of money in the briefcases!” (Deal or No Deal) was successful in this country for several years.

Nice seeing The Tipping Point make the top 20. Yes, it is quite rare for a 3pm weekday overseas game show to make the list.

Although i still do enjoy watching The Chase UK, i did watch a few Tipping Point eps during rhe Olympics, and as simple as the show is, it is quite addictive to watch. Not sure if it is suited to a 5pm local version, but again, Deal or No Deal was popular and that was just picking random briefcases. Lol.

It’s interesting though how the very high mid-afternoon audience didn’t translate into dominating wins for Hot Seat and therefore Nine News.

At first you’d think it’s just because of the issues in Adelaide and Perth and the different timeslots, but even the east coast markets were very close or losses.

So is it more because of afternoon press conferences / breaking news that viewers are turning to? Or does Eddie McGuire’s show still have a few problems to fix?

Also noteworthy: Larry Emdur doesn’t seem to have held his Olympics audiences at all, dropping back to what AOK was getting if not slightly lower (remembering two big markets are in lockdown).

So should Seven and Nine analyse their day time programming closer and make changes? Or is it a waste of time and better focussing on prime time, plus breakfast and concentrating on the 5 / 5:30pm game shows?
