The final of Celebrity Apprentice Australia saw Nine manage a one-point win in network shares last night. Nine’s main channel had a bigger lead but second-placed Seven closed the gap with its multis.

The Winner Announcement was the top entertainment entry at just under 600,000 with the bulk of the show ranking 11th with 459,000. That compares to last year’s series that ended with 718,000 and 614,000. Across this series the show averaged 408,000 in the overnights.

Nine’s share was on par with last Tuesday while Seven lost ground. Big Brother placed fifth at 7.30 with its lowest Tuesday number of the season. That followed Home and Away that also posted its lowest Tuesday result of the year.

Over on 10, MasterChef had its best Tuesday audience of this season while The Cheap Seats that followed posted the show’s highest audience since its premiere episode in 2021. That combination saw 10 win the night in all key demo groups.

There wasn’t a lot of change for ABC’s lineup with the only prime time entries ABC News and 7.30. Southern Ocean Live missed the top 20 rankings.

Premiering last night the new season of Who Do You Think You Are? on SBS did well to make the top 20 ranking with 370,000. That was up on last year’s premiere that had 313,000. That helped SBS to its highest Tuesday share of the year.

Good to see Nine News Melbourne regain a bit of ground this week so far.

Celebrity Apprentice finished on a high but overall, its overnight ratings had been underwhelming. Nine will be hoping the return of Australia Ninja Warrior next week will fare much better, against MasterChef which is entering its final weeks.

Good to see the ratings of Who Do You Think You Are? going up.

Tuesday post-8pm has been a ratings blackhole for the ABC for the past decade or so. It tried everything (like documentaries and specials) but they mostly failed.

Good to see the return of Who Do You Think You Are rate well for SBS.

MasterChef did well. Looks like when that finished, that the viewers tuned into the end of The Celebrity Apprentice and find out who won. Big Brother is dead.

The Twelve on Foxtel was a great drama. Wish it had rated better for Foxtel.

Big Brother slowly killing off the shows that follow as well.

Still not worth setting up a separate channel for overseas news.
