The Budget numbers were similar to 2018 when 495,000 tuned in for the Treasurer’s Speech and 416,000 for ABC’s news special that followed. Married AFS was down from Monday’s audience. Travel Guides in Canberra was down from last week’s high. MKR and Home And Away held onto their audiences.

Poor numbers for Nine News on budget night.

A few viewers abandoned MAFS after its record breaking highs. Some had threatened to stop watching after producers broke their own rules and looks like they did. MKR is starting to climb again.

Travel Guides has been a big success for Nine. A case of leaving a show on for a few years and it slowly gathers more and more viewers until it becomes a hit.

I notice that in recent weeks, MKR had more timeshifting audiences than Married at First Sight.
Strong finish for Travel Guides. The only question for Nine is how many episodes it will make for next season and if it will continue to air after MAFS.

It was only an hour long episode focused on one couple, Heidi and Mike, and their vow renewal ceremony. The Daily Mail has already spoiled the results and I think most people are just looking forward to the Reunion drama.

Thanks for the excuses. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Most people in Australia will not be watching it.

Nobody needs any excuses. There is nothing on television that even comes close to MAFS ratings. Still last night was focused just on Heidi and Mike vows, who are probably the least interesting couple in the experiment. IMO they should have just included Heidi and Mike in last nights episode and spent more time on the final dinner party/reunion. I am certain that the numbers will sky rocket and break viewing records for the show come Sunday/Monday.

That is the case for every single show.

You could be right. Let’s see.

ABC’s Louis Theroux ranked 21st and NCIS 22nd.

The budget specials: The Latest had one of its highest audiences ranking 27th. However The Resident saw its audience halve in a later timeslot. Nine’s Budget special ranked 45th in a later timeslot. One of 10’s Updates got its own coding and ranked 57th.

MKR seems to be gaining some traction which is positive for 7. I wonder if the added viewers for the AFL has helped it.

Interestingly this is the first time at this time of the year that I have only tuned into one hour of programming for the week at 7:30.

I think the viewers went down for MAFS because the vows are just not as exciting as the rest of the show. Plus the whole episode focused on Mike and Heidi who are not fan favourites.

I despise the show but unfortunately it seems like all the trash shows get all the good attention nowadays…so wouldn’t surprise me.

Surprised MKR is actually climbing with MAFS growing bigger and bigger. Looks like the show will recover when MAFS finishes next week and Nine falls into Big Bang and Paramedics encores.

Interesting to see that Seven News Sydney won the night across the hour on Federal Budget night but again, that increase during 2nd half…

Married at First Sight wraps up next Monday and after that Bachelor in Paradise will start once MAFS finishes. I don’t think That Bachelor in Paradise will overlap with Masterchef. I had a feeling that this show will last for 5 weeks ending somewhere in May.

Very good numbers for Seven News. They won every market. Big gap in Melbourne.

I can’t believe that people don’t think 1.3 million is a good number for MAFS.

Channel 9, or any other station, would take that figure any day of the week

It’s a great result for what was essentially a filler episode. They could have realistically done all 5 vow ceremonies in one 2 hour episode which might have rated 1.5 million. But they are better off with 3 nights worth of 1.2-1.3 million.
