The Australian Survivor finale lifted 10 to its best Tuesday share this year with the main channel ranking second. 10 won the three key advertising demos. Nine won nationally, winning all markets except Perth, 10 ranked second in Melbourne and Brisbane.

In preliminary numbers, Survivor recorded its highest Grand Final of the franchise on 10 though the Winner’s Announcement was slightly below the 1.08 million season one recorded. The result compared to last season’s 862,000 and 877,000 (winner). In 2017 it was 720,000 and 787,000 with the 2016 season 859,000 and 1.08m. Despite the lack of a Reunion, 10’s network share was the same as for last year’s final.

The Block held up well against the competition, though it dropped back to its usual Tuesday ratings from last week’s high but it was the first time the Survivor had beaten the show. Seachange and Old People’s Home both took hits.

Seven’s split schedule included Inside The G that flopped - 25th in Melbourne, 21st in Adelaide and 22nd in Perth. Dogs Behaving Badly’s new timeslot saw it rank 22nd in Sydney and 24th in Brisbane.

Big finish to Survivor. Well done to everyone involved.
Nine still won the night though.

Well the supposed backlash from the vote out of viewer favourite Luke didn’t affect the ratings for the finale at all. Great result.

Survivor smashed The Block and SeaChange. Will Nine renew SeaChange?

It has been a very successful season of Survivor in the ratings but I did expect it to be the biggest finale for the series.

Survivor was Number 1 in Melbourne. Yikes! Kudos to 10 for producing an exceptionally successful season of this franchise. Looks as though 10 is on the way up in the 2nd half of the year.

Nationally including regional it seems to be going ok as well as catchup.
