Nine scores a Tuesday win, up 2 from last week, as Seven drops more than 5 points off the back of a poor result for Big Brother. ABC and SBS were also up while 10 posted its highest Tuesday share of the 2022 survey.

Timeslot honours were shared - Seven News won at 6pm then Nine won 7pm and 7.30 while 10 won the post reality battle with The Cheap Seats.

In the reality battle both LEGO Masters and MasterChef were up 50k from the previous Tuesday. However, Big Brother lost +90,000 from the Monday premiere to sink to the kind of numbers seen on last year’s ill fated Celebrity version of the franchise. The show also slipped outside of the top demo results – 8th in 25-54 and 18-49 and 6th in 16-39.

Meanwhile The Cheap Seats improved its audience by 50k from the season premiere to post the series’ second highest audience ever (after the very first episode) winning its timeslot in total people and key demos. The program rated better than Big Brother in 25-54 and 18-49.

ABC had some success for a Tuesday with The Family Court Murders.

Lego Masters received a much needed ratings boost with two more episodes to go in the season.

The eye keeps sinking. I’m worried about how low it’s going to go. Would love to see how Seven spin it

Not looking great for BB.

Seven’s limited early success with some of these new and returning franchises they crowed about hasn’t lasted long. You’d have to assume the themed seasons and the spin-off’s (SAS etc) haven’t helped any of their stripped formats of late with subsequent seasons.

Lego Masters still the winner for the most part but even the shine seems to have worn off this show, while MasterChef barely holding on too.

I wonder how Farmer Wants a Wife will go this year then. That’s another returned format. The Celebrity Apprentice and Beauty and the Geek also.

Big Brother is looking like it’s going to do no better than VIP. Clearly the show is not resonating with viewers and the “All Star” contestants just don’t have any pull. It’s time to drop the format.

MasterChef seems to be benefiting slightly this week without the Voice.

Big Brother came first in Adelaide and last in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

I wonder if Big Brother will get moved to 7mate with the ratings dipping?

Nine won the east coast markets with Seven winning in Adelaide and Perth.

I think it’s a combo of that but also the format. A lot of people who have tuned in would have been expecting a similar type format to when they were on the show.

2eps in and it is day 4 and we again have the issue in not knowing who is who and witnessing any organic conversations. It’s all manufactured stunt shit. It’s fallen flat. The fact the eps are a minimum 2 hours doesn’t help either. It’s just not a format that can sustain the lengthy eps

That will leave a huge programming gap in the 7.30pm timeslot until late June, when The Farmer Wants a Wife is scheduled to start (if it is to finish before the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in July).

The shine has well and truly gone off all three reality tentpoles currently airing. Bringing back favourite past contestants hasn’t boosted MasterChef’s numbers and it seemingly (if its ratings continue to slide) won’t help Big Brother either.

The format of the show doesn’t work… the games and survivor type challenges don’t fit a show like BB. People tune in for the characters. We hardly get a deep and meaningful conversation.

Wow, 10 News First just straight up beaten by 5pm Hot Seat and Chase. Unthinkable 15 years ago.

As I predicted BB under 400k. I don’t think it’s finished sinking yet either.

Not looking good as a lead in to the debate tonight. I knew the debate should’ve been at 7 or 7.30.

Seven is really the rubbish network these days. BB is purile shite more than ever. Little else to recommend on 7 these days. They deserve to crash by dishing up such pathetic crap as BB.

Once again Tipping Point wins in East Coast (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane) against their Afternoon News). I don’t understand why they don’t move it to 5pm…

Tipping Point at 3pm did beat the afternoon News at 4pm in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. And did rate higher than the 5pm portion of Hot Seat. But Hot Seat had a higher ratings at 5.30pm. So i think that will stay for the rest of the year. Will probably need an overhaul in 2023 though.
