This is more proof of the schizophrenic nature of MMM. is it a music station? a sport station? a comedy station? being like this may haver worked in the past because rock music fans had no where else to go but now there’s the rock on dab
Gambling $$$… A bit like how SEN operates.. low ratings but seems to pull good ad $$$ from betting sponsors and related entities/advertisers and is probably cheap to make.
Triple M are becoming like a mini-SEN station (sadly)… I know stations in the US have ditched music to go 24 hour sport/talk.. I sincerely hope Triple M doesn’t go that way.
I can’t see this working, especially in Perth with the different music format and slightly younger audience.
No doubt they will be sharing some resources with Channel 7’s horse racing coverage. And probably selling advertising packages to betting companies across both platforms. Sport fans are already use to tuning in to Triple M across the footy season. This would be seen as a method of trying to keep that audience for a bit longer.

Given Sky and Nine have the rights to the Melbourne Cup Carnival, I think Triple M may use some of their coverage.
The inaugural Triple M 1000 countdown is asking music lovers to decide across the next six weeks, with voting open today – Tuesday October 6.
You can can pick up to ten tracks and vote via the free LiSTNR app. The songs can be from any generation or genre.

Not a surprise there they have been joining Metro countdown before like the G.O.A.T and rock’s greatest hits 600 countdown even the folk of 80s 402 countdown

It does look like you can vote from hits today some of the song they play over at B105 2DayFm and the Fox from the hit network could get a run on triple m 1000 countdown this countdown going to be a mess
Even though they’ll say any song will count, I’m sure they’ll ‘curate’ it to suit their format.
