Triple M Network

I somewhat agree there. 96FM’s weakness is that they’ll always be part of a Hot AC KIIS Network. They’ll never be pure rock and pure male skewed whilst airing shows like K&J and Will & Woody.

I imagine this caller was in the overlap area between Brisbane and Gold Coast as both shows would use the 1333 53 number.
Triple M Gold Coast now has it’s own number, 1300 925 666, since they ditched the separate regional number (13 27 10). This is the problem with using the same number in overlap zones.

Thanks.

Shame they couldn’t / didn’t get 1300 925 925, as 925 925 was their phone number when they first converted to FM (back when regional phone numbers were still 6 digits).

Is the 3PM Matty Shearhold show highlights of the Melbourne breakfast or is it recoded separately?

Highlights with a fresh intro.

The 666 represents MMM so it could be said 1300 925 MMM

96 have been #1 in the past without AFL coverage.

They even do a custom intro and edit it slightly different for Melbourne where it is promoted more as a “catch-up” or “in case you missed it this morning” type show.

Legendary Aussie Test Captain Mark Taylor AO and Lord Ian Botham , arguably English cricket’s greatest with bat and ball, will preside over Triple M’s ‘Summer of Cricket’ when the first Ashes test commences in Brisbane at the Gabba on Wednesday 8 December.

Triple M’s all-star commentary team will be led by James Brayshaw and Australia’s #1 sports podcaster, Mark ‘Howie’ Howard, alongside former Ashes greats Greg Blewett, Brad Haddin and Merv Hughes . Triple M also introduces former international cricketer Isabelle Westbury to the commentary team, bringing her formidable credentials as the former captain of Middlesex and a highly respected cricket journalist.

Cricket makes its stunning return to Triple M after the network signed a long-term partnership with Cricket Australia, including covering the 2021-22 men’s Vodafone Ashes and Dettol One-Day International matches - heard via its FM stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

In an Australian first, LiSTNR will also be streaming the matches Australia-wide. Along with the FM broadcast in the capital cities, cricket fans will be able to download the LiSTNR app and hear the call wherever they play, work and holiday right across Australia.

surely country folk would like to hear cricket on their local Triple M?

Do you really need ABC Local Radio and Triple M in a 2 commercial station market playing the cricket for 5 days of a test?

Hell no.

At least the option is there to stream it, just because someone is regionally based doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be able to access alternate coverage.

That’s a bit like saying regional areas should have the same terrestrial radio choice as metros. We all know that’s not feasible.

I’m not suggesting that at all, the ability to access these services via alternate means (streaming) exist.

Previously accessing alternate coverage to the ABC’s cricket coverage has been incredibly difficult

I have heard cricket promo’s on Triple M Hobart, but can’t recall if it was on FM or via the MMM’s app.

You’d think the same ad would have been on FM as well, assuming you were listening to the Hobart stream
