But i do remember that Sunday evening after the footy it just had the Sydney bulletin on Channel 9
Yes, as you probably know, that’s probably coming from the Wyong (Wyrrabolong Trig) translator at Forresters Beach that’s only just down the road that carries both Sydney and regional channels from all three networks.
Today’s 11:50am (ACST) Virgin Australia flight from Adelaide to Melbourne was the first to allow pets to sit with their owners.
I used to think no. But now I think I would. My last trip I could have easily kept going instead of doing a stopover. Once I got off the plane I felt worse on the second flight than the first.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has ordered urgent inspections requiring airlines to examine the wing-spar structure on the affected jets after inspectors found cracks during routine maintenance checks.
The cracks appeared in a structural beam that runs along the wing and carries much of the aerodynamic load during flight.
The five aircraft to be inspected immediately are flown by Emirates and will undergo the process as soon as Wednesday.

Qantas will suspend its Alice Springs-Melbourne route indefinitely from November 15 this year. The airline will also pause the Darwin-Singapore service on October 25, and resume it next year between June 12 and August 21, due to falling passenger demand.
Just saw this on a travel website.. made me laugh.. I think I’ll pass ![]()
You could probably buy the whole hotel for that!
The Australian airline industry could be in line for a major shake-up with Vietnamese carrier Vietjet applying to launch domestic flights.
The low-cost airline, which already operates international flights between Vietnam and Australia, has submitted an application to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority to compete directly with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin on domestic routes.
More than one million Qantas customers will begin receiving emails and text messages about how they can apply for a share of $105 million in compensation over Covid-19 flight credits. Customers are expected to receive a minimum payout of $50, however some amounts may be significantly higher.
Echo Law on Monday began sending notices to customers who received flight credits instead of cash refunds for Qantas flights cancelled during the pandemic. It comes after Qantas agreed in March to pay $105 million to settle the flight credit class action, with no admission of liability by the airline.
Under the terms of the settlement, only about $68 million will be available to eligible customers following the deduction of legal fees and the cost of litigation and commissions.
Who is eligible for the Qantas payment?
You may be eligible to receive a payment if you purchased a ticket for yourself or another person on a cancelled Qantas flight between January 1, 2020 and November 1, 2022, and a flight credit was issued.

Buses are this morning connecting to the new airport from other hubs.
Security advised you can drive in but can't park.
Catch a bus in and have a walk around?
You can't go inside terminal ✈️ ✈️ #WSI pic.twitter.com/2KJHutFoGc
Unless you lived incredibly close by, why would anyone bother driving in to have a look at the outside of the building for a few seconds?
Interestingly whilst the media carry on endlessly about the cost of living crisis in Australia, I have been on a European holiday for the past 4 weeks and about to go into my fifth and final week and all I see everywhere I’ve been in continental Europe and the UK are masses of Australians on holidays spending thousands and thousands of dollars. Whilst that may be a small sample size out of a 28m population, it would seem Australians will not forgo their European summer vacations but if the media ask them, they’ll cry poor and say it’s all Albo’s fault.
Lol! I tried it a couple of weeks ago!
Couldn’t even get that close.
I’ve noticed this with some of my mates who are very critical of the government’s reforms and claim that the cost of living is hurting yet so many of them are travelling overseas to escape the winter this year in Europe, Japan and Pacific islands. ![]()
This is often the case. There’s also well off people claiming their finances in crisis but they’ll spend thousands swanning around Europe. And the cost of everything over here has gone through the roof. I was here in 2023 and it’s increased significantly. This is the case all over the world. In the intervening years I’ve travelled through Asia and that’s also gone up.
If people are so concerned about the cost of living perhaps they need to cut out their holidays and save some money instead of blaming the government for all their woes.
I’m surprised so many Aussies can afford to holiday in Europe ,with the cost of living and everything,I certainly can’t ![]()
Must be the lucky few who have well paying jobs,no expensive rent or mortgage payments
Here in Australia we’re disadvantaged because it’s a 12 to 14 hour flight on average to fly to mainland Europe or the US or Canada from here.

The report found Australia has dropped 10 places in the overall rankings since 2021, alongside declines for Canada (down 11 places), New Zealand (down 15) and the United States, which has fallen from first place globally in 2021 to 12th in 2026.
Europe continued its dominance of the rankings, claiming nine of the world’s top 10 passports.
Sweden topped the 2026 index ahead of Switzerland and Finland, with Singapore the only non-European nation to make the top 10.
