Jetstar will launch a new seasonal flight from Newcastle to Hobart on December 2, with the support from NSW and Tasmanian governments. The flights will operate three times a week from December to April.
My DiDi ride post Sydney Marathon was $30, admittedly Sunday Afternoon isnāt really peak time but still significantly better than a cab
I always found departing Brisbane Airport, especially without lounge access, to be more of a pain (Adelaide was the worst for arriving)
The company is one of more than 40 firms globally caught up in the hack, reported to contain up to 1bn customer records.
The Qantas data, which was stolen from a Salesforce database in a major cyber-attack in June, included customersā email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates and frequent flyer numbers. It did not contain credit card details, financial information or passport details.
Perfect for salmon fishing and micro fiching!
The new cabin baggage rules start on February 2 next year.
I hope Qantas /Jetstar crack down on this too ,cabin bag sizes.I canāt believe the size of carry on suitcases some people try to sneak on flights. The cabin crew members arenāt allowed to help you stow your luggage in the overhead lockers due to safety reasons.
So only bring a carry on bag you can lift yourself. If everyone does this
there wouldnāt be holdups for people trying to fit their oversized bag in the locker.
Had an rather interesting experience today with one of the places that I had booked for my holidays over the next couple of weeks.
I won a Travel Auctions voucher a few months back for this place up in the Whitsundays. Paid for it and booked it all in back then for next week with the (then) owners, all good to go. Or so I thought.
The other day, I received a message from the new owners (who had taken over a couple of weeks back), with an invoice attached for the three nights accommodation at the standard full rate (an extra $85 per night on top of what I was going to pay with my voucher).
Turns out these new owners have decided that they donāt want to honour any of the Travel Auctions vouchers that had been booked under the previous owners, and are referring everyone back to Travel Auctions to try and get their money back- then insisting on direct payment at the full rate to continue with these bookings.
Travel Auctions (to their credit) have been absolutely fantastic about this however- had my money back for the original voucher pretty much straight away. Could have stayed at the original place still and paid the full rate but with how the situation was handled decided Iād much prefer to save myself a bit of money and stay elsewhere. Found a place down the road in the end thatās just as suitable for my needs and half the price of what these new owners were wanting me to pay.
A designer Bulgari gold diamond necklace worth $11,000 and other pricey jewellery are up for grabs as part of an auction of lost property found at an Australian airport.
Brisbane Airport is putting the lost items - as well as airport memorabilia - up for auction for charity.
The auction features hundreds of items left behind by the 24 million passengers who travelled through the terminals in the past year.
Meanwhile, special airport memorabilia including old plane seats, an Ansett lifejacket from the defunct airline and even a black box flight recorder from a plane are also being sold to the highest bidder.
The auction is running online via Lloyds.
I think the rule should be only bags that can be lifted with one hand should be allowed in overhead lockers⦠eg backpack⦠if you need two hands to lift it, i think it should be checked in.
Half the delays I see on planes are because of people struggling to lift luggage in/out of overhead lockers.
I usually bring a small bag or backpack on board an aircraft that I can fit under the seat in front ,I rarely need to use the overhead locker
The index, monitored by British consultancy firm Henley & Partners, has tracked some big shifts in passport power over the course of just a few months.
Since its last report in July, the United Kingdom has dropped from sixth to eighth place, while the US has fallen out of the top 10 completely.
Itās a marked fall for the US, which was once ranked at number one back in 2014, and has now dropped to 12th place alongside Malaysia.
Both countriesā passports permit entry to 180 countries without a visa.
Itās the first time in the indexās 20-year history that the US has fallen out of the top 1
Melbourne Airport will trial fixed-price taxi bookings as it looks to stamp out rip-offs at the rank along with illegal taxi touts.
Anything but an Airport line
Iām surprised Delta didnāt already fly to LAX out of MEL or BNE.
I think it did pre Covid. Airlines come and go all the time
