Postponement to 2021 is now looking more likely. Might not be so bad for 7. Use this year to try and establish some new stuff in amongst all the disruption going on and aim for a new start next year.

from what i seen and heard from tokyo them selfs it still going ahead regardless
next year is not an Olympiad though…

Breaking news this morning was that the US athletics association was calling for postponement and apparently swimming Australia has said similar.

An Olympiad is a period of four years, so the next Olympiad is July 2020 - July 2024. If the Tokyo Olympic Games are held next year it would still be within those four years.

Australia’s Olympic athletes have been told to plan for the Games to be delayed until next year.
The move came after Canada’s Olympic Committee said it would not send athletes to the Tokyo Olympics, currently scheduled for July.
It said the Australian team "could not be assembled in the changing circumstances at home and abroad".

Latest I heard was that it could be held in the summer of 2021 but with sevens cricket commitments they probably won’t like that.
