Tonight’s Media Watch had a story on Today’s resident doctor (and occasional summer fill in host) Nick Coatsworth.

With the new WWOS Set, i would (and as many of you would too) LOVE to see Today move into this space. So much lighter and brighter. Plus the soft set is already built in so that would make the flow between segments much less jarring. And a AR mezzanine like TVNZ1 Breakfast does would top it off!

Don’t see how that would be better for Today. Just more screens and a desk.

The Australian is claiming that Karl has all but given up on having his contract extended at the end of the year.

Sources have also told The Australian that he has had several informal conversations about moving to radio, including ARN chief (and ex-Nine sales boss) Michael Stephenson (which took place before Kyle and Jackie O blew up).

Insiders also told The Australian that staff regret letting Karl do his own podcast, underestimating how committed he would be to it, and how independent it would be.

So he’s saying that his time for Breakfast TV comes to an end this year and wants to focus outside Breakfast TV

He isn’t saying anything. The Australian is.

In a gobsmacking about-face, Stefanovic last week used his podcast freedom to apologise for his work fronting Nine’s #GetVaccinated campaign alongside then-Today show co-host Allison Langdon during the coronavirus pandemic back in 2022.
“The one thing (people) say about me is that I supported the Covid jab, and I have regrets from that time, and I am definitely sorry for the role I played in not questioning the science, in not questioning more the government mandates, and I feel like I isolated people because of that,” he told former Liberal senator and vaccine sceptic Gerard Rennick
