Very late ending for Today in Queensland - 9:51 AM. Nine interrupted the 1 hour delayed playout to go live to the PM’s media conference that carried Today Extra branding then later returned to Today. It took a minute or so each time to get the clock working.

I thought Today did pretty well with their coverage even if their reporters are perhaps less well known to the audience compared to the Sunrise team.

Today recorded the highest audience for any breakfast show in Sydney for this year and also won Brisbane with the show’s highest audience for the year.

Nine News Sydney also miles ahead of Seven this week.

I’m the same also, in these sort of events it’s either News 24 or Nine.

Karl walked onto set this morning during the 5.30 opener. Any reason for this?

Do you have to know every time somebody needs an urgent dunny stop? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I would say he was running late?

It felt like a staged move. Like he did the voice overs, welcomed everyone and just casually walked to the desk and sat down.

Ben Fordham did this quite a bit back in 2012-2014. If it’s anything like the way Ben did it, then I’m a fan.

Today’s coverage of the NSW flooding has been accompanied by a big boost in ratings in Sydney.

Maybe the wheels are falling off with Nat in the chair. It’s only gotten closer since Sam left.

Isn’t it too early to jump to conclusions? Today closed the gap many times last year with Sam in the chair too.

The key is to look at what’s been happening this week. Flood in NSW/QLD and those states love Nine for news so naturally Today would rate higher. Once things die down then any patterns will be evident.

The only people that would be happy would be Nine fans and sad for Seven fanboys

It’s been 2 weeks. Is this a serious take?

Agreed. Too early to make that call.
