Dire ratings for Today on Wednesday - equal* lowest for the year so far. In Sydney, traditionally Today’s strongest market, it was ourated by News Breakfast and Sunrise had double the audience.
* Note that Today had the same overnight rating on 11 March this year in rounded numbers, but yesterday was lower in raw numbers.

News Breakfast pushed The Today Show to 3rd place in Sydney???
There is no way this show will stay the same come 2020. I would say most of the team and presenters are aware that they may not be back next year. A lot would be looking at other opportunities elsewhere.

What actually needs to happen here? I know plenty of ideas have been put forward, but in all realness what is the answer? Presenter change again? Change format? News bulletin?

Today improved 20k for Thursday from Wednesday’s year-low. For the second day in a row Brisbane was the show’s highest rated market with the show winning in Brisbane by <1,000.
