Tonight’s episode had not one, but two standing ovation counters. The first one was in the quick fire round where two counters edge surfed, and stood up, before crashing down on the 3rd push. Todd called it a double standing ovation.
The second standing ovation was in the jackpot round in the 4th category.

Went to the filming session this afternoon. We were all in at 1:30pm, and didn’t go into the studio until 3:00pm. Ben Lomas who’s a standup comedian, and works as an audience coordinator person on other shows like Deal Or No Deal, Have You Been Paying Attention?, The Cheap Seats and The Front Bar, was the audience coordinator person for today’s filming session.
I asked Todd Woodbridge at one point about what happened with Michael Pope who was the audience coordinator person when the show was filmed at the NEP Studios in Southbank. He said he couldn’t be in today, but would be back again tomorrow. I was fearing he’d been replaced as the audience coordinator person.
In my opinion Ben Lomas was inexperienced as the audience coordinator person for Tipping Point. Thankfully he was only in for today, since Michael Pope was unavailable. He clearly does what he does best.
I also asked Todd Woodbridge of what prompted the move of production to Docklands, and he said when they were at the NEP Studios there was limited parking around the area, and the trams were a distance away.
Production of Tipping Point for next year is filmed in Studio 5 which is the exact same studio Deal Or No Deal has been filmed in.
I’m going back to another filming session next Wednesday afternoon, as I missed Michael Pope as the audience coordinator person, and I was sitting off screen in the far right up the back.
Nice write up Jack, haven’t heard of Ben. I thought the episodes were shot in pairs of 2? Why did you only see one? Have they stopped doing so many episodes for new season?

What happens between 1.30-3pm?
It was only the first day of filming. Since we went into the studio at 3:00pm, they only had time to film the one episode this afternoon.
In February last year when I was in the audience I told Todd Woodbridge how my Nan thinks the show is rigged because she thinks there’s someone in the machine dropping the counters down with a magnet. Todd joked about how Grant Denyer was who was behind the machine.
We just sat around in the foyer room and waited till we went in.
Also Ben Lomas who was the fill in audience coordinator person for today’s session, said that after the episode has aired, and if the contestant won money on the show, they don’t get the money until 30 days after the episode has aired.
Change of plan. I’m now going back to another filming session a week later on Wednesday the 19th of August, after the Logies have aired, and if Tipping Point wins the Logie for Most Popular Entertainment Program, and if Todd Woodbridge wins the Gold Logie (even though I’m rooting for Sam Pang to win it, because of all the work he does in the TV industry, including hosting the Logies the last 3 years).
