In a fairly close contest, Seven’s split schedule won Thursday night’s ratings despite the network dropping 4 points from the previous week. Nine was down a point while 10 improved by 3. ABC was also up with SBS steady.

For 10 it was the network’s highest overnight share since July and best Thursday result since April. Seven’s share was its lowest Thursday since May.

Nine won the NRL states with Seven winning AFL states. 10 was second in Perth and easily won the key demos – 7 points clear of second placed Seven in 25-54 and 14 points clear in 16-39.

10’s Gogglebox and Mirror Mirror were the top entertainment programs for the night. Mirror Mirror was up 20k from Wednesday’s number. Gogglebox with 633k compared to the February 2021 season debut that had 501k.

Decent night for 10 on the back of Mirror Mirror part 2 and the return of Gogglebox (despite the 9pm start).

Seven News won in Adelaide over the hour after losing to Nine News on Wednesday.

10 would be very happy with Gogglebox and Mirror Mirrors numbers. They’re pretty good.

Terrible figure last night for Seven News Melbourne.

This is a trend that will continue, as we have seen with Sunrise.

Network newscast really do need to refrain from pushing an agenda.

Quite odd considering Seven News has been quite dominant in Melbourne for some time. There weren’t any presenter changes, and just yesterday they were doing fine. Will be interesting if this downward trend continues.

Not that it means much, but even Seven News Sydney (who won the whole hour) and Brisbane are turning in respectable numbers, and they usually struggle against Nine…

Just because it occurs with Sunrise doesn’t mean it will also happen to the nightly news. You’re forgetting that different sets of audiences watch at different times.

He has a point though. News should be objective and balanced and the audience will expect that to be the case.

This is good news. Good strategy there as that would be new viewers as first screening viewers would be miniscule. Getting the post gogglebox exposure will add to its audience and looks good for a 2022 renewal.

Great ratings for Mirror Mirror. I think Ten should commission a second season of it. There are a lot of other similar disorders and stories to tell on the subject. I would like to see and hear more about them.

I thought it was excellent. And it didn’t seem to scare the advertisers away. At least in Brisbane there were several ads for anti-aging skin cream and gym equipment. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Today won the demos.

Yes and if they kept it pretty similar they could run 3 X 1 hour on Wednesdays at 8:40. Or on Thursdays in lead up to Gogglebox.

Either way with those numbers I’d be getting series 2 ideas ready.
