Seven wins Thursday , its first overnight success for 3 weeks, though Nine has the top main channel. Seven won Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth with Nine leading Sydney and Brisbane. Nine won the key demographic groups.

Married At First Sight did very well again to dominate early while Big Bash managed 552,000 for session 2 in preliminary numbers. 10 had some success with the premiere of season 3 of Ambulance Australia outrating all of season 2’s episodes.

ABC’s poor run of Thursday results continues since the premiere of this season’s Dr Who.

Seven will be encouraged by the surprise win on the back of BBL Challenger and multichannels.
MAFS was a tad lower than last year’s Thursday night’s episode which averaged 999,000. I believe there will be another Thursday episode in March, due to the Women’s T20 World Cup final at the MCG on March 8.
Solid start for the new season of Ambulance Australia.

Typical Ten losing momentum as the week progresses. I think Ambulance is fantastic but should follow a stronger lead in rather than stand on it’s own.

I also think if Ambulance had a stronger lead-out it could’ve done better. If Ambulance is still on when Gogglebox returns then it should perform better.

I think Im a Celeb shouldve ran Sunday and Monday as the finale, survivor Tues to Thurs this week, give maximum exposure to DWTS for Sunday, nonetheless Ambulance did better than I expected.

Survivor would have suffered from going up against Big Bash. They can’t keep putting all their eggs in one basket like Seven did and now copping the consequences. They just need to promote Ambulance Australia better and not overpromote shows like Survivor, DWTS and I’m A Celeb.

The networks need to have lots of different shows on different nights again or they risk dying a quick death. No other country strips their reality shows across so many nights and bloats the episodes as much as Australia does, which kills every other show around them.

@TV.Cynic With all three morning shows back live from their summer break, are ratings back to around what each of them were doing last year?

Also, how is Tipping Point going at 3pm? Any improvement on the summer results and what the news was getting?

Is this number for the full 90mins these days?

All morning shows are about the same. The Morning Show and Studio 10 seemed to rate higher in previous weeks up against tennis.

Across the 4 days so far this week Tipping Point has averaged a lower rating than Nine News Now for the equivalent week last year. On one day it was roughly the same but on others well down. Not sure if there is a connection by Nine Afternoon News that follows was 100k behind Seven Afternoon News yesterday.

Not yesterday - 6pm was separate. On Wednesday it was a combined number.

Oh, no! Less than 288,000. Just as bad as Celebrity Name Game and Pointless.

Ten really need to do something about that timeslot. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not a bad start for Ambulance. 10 look pretty good to begin this year. Much more positive than last years mess. Dancing needs to get at least 500-600k now to keep that momentum going.

It was reported that CNG was getting about 180k before news took over. News seems to have grown the time slot by about 80-100k.

A summer fling? What about this week as people settled back into their routines again?

7News having a few big wins this week over 9News in Brisbane. Sydney and Melbourne close.

NRL season will start on the 12 March so I suspect that they might have to delay an episode of MAFS to 15 March

Married At First Sight is only airing from Sunday to Wednesday next week, so presumably that will be the case for (at least most of) the rest of the season.
