Without an episode of Married at First Sight this Thursday, Nine dropped 5 from the previous week. That allowed Seven and 10 to post their highest shares of the week and Seven to win the night.

Seven won Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, Nine won Sydney and Melbourne. 10 was second in Perth. 10 won all key demo groups.

Gogglebox led the entertainment offerings with a season high nudging 600,000. Prior to that Territory Cops and Bondi rescue were both up over 100,000 on the previous week’s season premieres.

Back Roads improved for ABC with Q and A’s rating its highest so far in the Thursday timeslot. For Seven, Home and Away was steady while Wife Swap was up 50k from last week’s season low.

Nine had split programming at 7.30 with Mega Zoo debuting in three markets - 10th in Melbourne, 16th Adelaide, 18th Perth.

The Late Late Show gave 10 some good post 9.30pm numbers especially with younger audiences.

Some very close news results in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide (tie)

Gogglebox did well for Ten. The James Corden-Prince Harry Special that followed did okay in some demos. The factuals at 7.30 (Bondi Rescue and Territory Cops) did average.

Q&A did better than usual this week.

I think they should move them to Wednesday and have The Cube on Thursdays. That just seems a better pairing with Gogglebox.

Interesting wording

This should’ve been a no brainer for 10, The Cube pairs so much better with Gogglebox and they have precedence with showing Bondi on Wednesdays.

Also avoids them going up against similar content, with ABC having Hard Quiz on Wednesdays and Nine showing factuals in some markets on Thursdays.

Next week would be the perfect week to make the switch with the Oprah interview on Monday. They could play The Amazing Race on Wednesday and air The Cube Thursday. They really need to make that switch. The Wednesday slot for the cube was just not smart.

I don’t think it’s failing “so bad”. It had over 500k last week and it could easily bounce back. Although as per comments above a lot of us have suggested that Wednesday is not the right night for it gven it’s up against another game show Hard Quiz on the ABC. It would definitely be more suited on Thursdays alongside Gogglebox.

Huge figures in Melbourne compared to Sydney.

If Bondi And Territory Cops moved to Wednesday they would be up against Seven’s factual Border Security.

Yet 7 won the hour by 1000. How does that make 9 dominant?

The pay TV audience was slightly up on the series opener last year (St Kilda v Hawthorn) which got 97,000.

The actual segments might be different. For example nine may be splitting it 6-6:27/6:27-7:01 while seven might be 6-6:31/6:31-7:00
