It was another close result last night, the third consecutive Thursday where less than 1 percentage point has separated Seven and Nine. This week, Seven had a narrow win in network shares while Nine had the top rated main channel. ABC was notable for dropping by almost 3 points from last week as 10 and SBS posted gains.

Sydney and Brisbane fell to Nine while AFL markets were won by Seven. Nine won 25-54 and 10 won 16-39. Seven finished third in both though it was a competitive night in the demos.

Standout entertainment program was MasterChef recording its highest Thursday audience of this season.

The return of Foreign Correspondent dragged down ABC’s result, down 90k on Back Roads that had been filling the 8pm spot.

Home and Away’s split coding delivered similar results while The Front Bar was up slightly in preliminary numbers.

Even with Nine’s first and second in-line not on in Sydney, Mark Burrows beat Mark Ferguson by 29k in the first half hour, and 41k in the second half hour.

Great figures for The Front Bar and The Latest in Melbourne, however it still seems there’s very little interest in The Front Bar in the NRL states.

edit

A good result for 10 last night.

Don’t know if Seven need to be split coding H&A, as it looks like it still would’ve averaged over 500k of the 3 eps were combined as previously. Networks are really abusing (not sure if that’s too harsh a term) their OzTam system lately!

The late change to move The Fast and the Furious looks to have paid off for 7mate (well up on recent weeks) and helped Seven get over the line by 0.5%

Also notable is the sequel which aired later (9:47pm) and also did not air in one market (Perth) rated too, ranking in all m/c key demos.

And the first one:

Didn’t begin in Perth until about 9pm, after a special prime time WAFL finished. This movie is 20 years old and has been repeated many times.

Having another go delivering a ratings articles to gauge response and interest.

The aim is to provide numbers outside the top 20 that can be quoted and discussed by members.

Also includes breakfast TV with a breakdown today per market :sunrise: Also morning results.

9GO!'s shares were well down due to having to carry the NRL.

A shame that The Usual Suspects on SBS failed to deliver anything good. Its been highly promoted on SBS recently.

Unfortunately there was also no joy for the show in the younger demo groups; the show recording 0’s in some markets in key groups. Perhaps it will pick up some good numbers in time shifting and VPM numbers across the week.

Yikes. Not a good sign re the younger demo groups. I also do hope it picks up in the time shifting and the VPM’s. Thanks for the response.

I think they had an epic fail with their radio ads. They ended them with “Streaming on SBS On Demand from Thursday 3 Jun” but absolutely no mention of the screening on SBS on the same day and timeslot.

Data © OzTAM Pty Limited 2021. The Data may not be reproduced, published or communicated (electronically or in hard copy) in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of OzTAM. “Overnight” figures include “Live” (programs broadcast during the 2am-2am broadcast day) and “As Live” (programs recorded and then watched within the same broadcast day). “Consolidated” figures include Live, As Live and “Time Shift” (programs recorded and then watched within seven days of the initial broadcast).

The Handmaid’s Tale increases by 160% - that added to its VPM numbers show viewers really don’t want to watch this live at 9.30pm.

The Usual Suspects also picks up some extra viewers.
