#2

Paramedics surged to a new series high. Seven and 10 just gave up.

#3

How To Stay Married only slightly better than The Conners last week but better than what it did in it’s later slot following the import.

#4

Yes How To Stay Married did better than last week especially in the younger demos but it was Ten’s lowest Thursday share for the year with the rest of the schedules tanking - The Conners was down 70k from last week. For Seven, Orange is the New Brown dropped slightly from last week to rank in 21st place while the premiere X Men movie was just 24th, On ABC 7.30 was at a 4-month low.

Sunrise won by 50,000 nationally and in all markets except Brisbane.

In the last official ratings week of the year Seven is currently 2% ahead of Nine.

#5

How to Stay Married and Orange is the New Brown are both being wasted at this time of the year. Both of these shows would do well if they were paired with a good lead in but as new shows that need to establish audiences they are struggling standing on their own. Can you imagine how much better Orange would do on a Sunday after the news or off the back of MKR? And how to Stay Married would have done if the season was paired with Bachelor or Bachelorette? Silly programming decisions to shaft these shows into these timeslots so late in the year has been such a waste.

#6

Yes, both shows could have improved with better leadins. For 2 weeks, Married did well after The Bachelorette but I think Orange would have eventually dropped to similar levels as it is now getting no matter what it followed - currently it loses 300k from Home and Away. All the best skits were in the first couple of episodes with the next couple pretty bad. I found last night’s almost unwatchable.

#7

I can’t see Orange or HTSM getting a second season. Even Ten isn’t that stupid.

#8

Dreadful numbers all round. At least they’re serving up first run content I suppose.

#9

Credit to Nine for dishing up a pretty good schedule last night. Seven only very close 2nd with 7mate and 7Two.

Is it safe to say Paramedics was the only offering viewers were interested in after 8:30pm last night? It’s a great factual, am now enjoying it better than Ambos Au.

The FTA premiere (did run for nearly 3.5 hours!) of XMen Apocalypse rated terrible, although again higher than some previous movies in the timeslot. Shouldn’t air a movie premiere in such a timeslot, especially that long and after what seems to now be a weak lead-in. Expect it to get a re-run on 7mate on an upcoming Sunday…

@TV.Cynic I only caught up with the debut ep of OITNB last night and I actually loved it. Ep 2 wasn’t as good, but still alright. But am not looking forward to Ep 3 and 4 now upon hearing feedback.

#10

@TV.Cynic How far behind was Today? If it was a lot, Sunrise performed really well for a quieter news day and lack of guests.
