A big result for the Neighbours final topping the night – total people and key demos with another close network result. Nine was 2 points ahead of second-placed Seven with 10 less than one point behind in third place. It was 10’s best Thursday result of the year though with the simulcast 10 Peach’s share was down 1.5 from the previous week. 10 was number one in the key demos.

A rare win for Nine News at 6pm again winning along the east coast. For Seven it was the bulletin’s second-lowest Thursday result of 2022 for the bulletin.

NRL was down slightly from the previous week but was otherwise on par for a Thursday.

The Commonwealth Games edition of Front Bar was up on recent results – airing at 8.30 in all markets. That followed another triple Home and Away that held up well against the competition.

The Foreign Correspondent anniversary special was on par with its usual episode numbers but ABC’s share was its lowest for a Thursday in seven weeks. Also a 2 point drop for SBS week-on-week.

Later, the late inclusion of Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod picked up a decent audience and ranked 24th for the night.

Very well deserved figures for Neighbours. Glad it went out on such a high.

Great figures for the last three episodes of Neighbours, more than five times the audience from Wednesday on 10 Peach. They will go even higher after timeshifting and BVOD. Neighbours was easily the No.1 show in Melbourne as well.

The NRL helped Nine to win the night however.

Nine News won in Melbourne last night and Wednesday, after Seven News won Monday and Tuesday. This week will go down to the wire.

I’m sure numbers will go up during the week with catch services.

Brilliant result. Better than I expected considering it’s a soapie and it had a tenth of that audience on a multichannel.

Good way to send neighbours off on a high. This helped to boost the ratings up during last night.

I guess all the posters saying it wasn’t worth putting the Neighbours finale on the main channel were wrong… Great result.

It didn’t make the Top 20 on 10 Peach though so is the 873k a combined figure for both channels or just 10?

On another note, Nine News Melbourne has really bounced back this week.

Common sense prevailed in them doing it. Would have been fools not too.

873,000 is a combined figure across 10 and 10 Peach.

I reckon 70% of that audience was on 10’s main channel (with the bonus that the episode was shown in HD).

Great to see Neighbours bow out on finale night with a reasonably large number. Demolition job in the demos too, although noted it was simulcast across two channels. There would be others who would’ve streamed it on 10play, would expect Ten to release those numbers in due time.

Are the channels not streamed? I thought they were based on previous discussions on here.

Yes they are but 10 and 10 Peach weren’t streaming during Neighbours last night.

So there was a 90-minute blockout?

Yup.

Charlie capped this last night:

Although its a solid number for Neighbours I thought more would have watched. I haven’t yet but I do plan to. So it will be interesting to see how high it gets.
