Seven wins Thursday again and Ten gets a big lift in share as Show Me The Movie improves 50,000 in total people and gets good demo numbers. Ms Fisher on Seven drops 130,000 just making the top 20 in total people and missing it in the key demographic groups.

Ms Fisher is in trouble only two weeks in, will need a big boost in timeshifting.

A crime scene needs to be established at the scene of Ms Fishers Modern Murder Mysteries. Dead as a door nail. Another victim of Seven scheduling.

Triple episodes continue to erode the Home and Away audience but Seven seem satisfied they’re getting nightly wins. The erosion is obviously having an effect lowering the live audience on Monday to Wednesday and Seven can ill afford this when the 7.30 lead out shows need as much lead in support as possible.

I was surprised when Seven commissioned Ms Fisher (and Blake) as I couldn’t see them as a fit for Seven. They axed APTCH because of low demos, yet proceeded with Ms Fisher, which would do nothing for demos. Having said that, Seven has given it no chance. Almost as if they wanted it to fail. So why did they bother?

Seven really need to think long and hard about promotion and timeslot when it comes to launching their other three dramas later this year (I doubt all three will launch but who knows). The way 800 Words, Wanted, Blake Myserties and now this have been treated is nothing short of disgraceful. Australian viewers expect better from the network that was the home of A Country Practice, All Saints, Blue Heelers and Packed to the Rafters. Whoever is behind it should hang their heads in shame.

And who is going to sit through 2 hour episodes every week? I watched it on the weekend last week but 2 hours is a big ask at any time.

Fisher would be a better fit for 7TWO…

Not defending 10 and their performance of late but the figures for the network on a Thursday are pretty competitive with Nine and Seven.
When you have Young Sheldon under 500k and Home and Away triple episodes at just over 500k figures like 340k for Show me the movie don’t seem as horrible.

Goes to show that people just avoid FTA unless there is a stripped reality show on. Everyone complains about the lack of variety these days but no one is willing to really give shows a shot unless it is stripped reality it seems.

Show Me The Movie grew week-on-week which is positive.

Googlebox is extraordinary in that it is effectively doubling its lead in. Rarely does that happen nowadays, to such an extent. On any network, let alone Ten. Such a shame the program airing after it fails to benefit from that lead in GB itself provides.

Agree, it’s a positive and it may actually be a show that if 10 nurture right could become moderately successful, I think if it could get 600k that’d be considered moderately successful for 10 but that is still effectively doubling its audience.

Gogglebox is a standout. Agree shame about the lead out but a good leadin almost doesn’t seem to matter these days.

#13

I think it shows your top raters have to kick off at 7 or 7.30 for any flow on effects to be immediately offered to other shows.

#14

Because that’s the only place they can get stripped reality. They’re getting thier fix for almost everything else via streaming.

Having said that, they need to start commissioning better series and taking chances on different dramas that generate buzz and will drive people to watch.

Things like Stranger things, house of cards, orange is the new black, 13 reasons why etc all put Netflix on the map and allowed users to watch everything else they had.

#15

Show Me The Movie could become like HYBPA and eventually grow if it is in the right timeslot and left ?

#16

Show Me The Movie ought to extend it’s run at 7:30pm right up until Masterchef launches in May. I know they’ve only budgeted for 8 episodes but I think it’s an easy format to get into and is certainly much more watchable than other failed panel shows like CRAM and A League Of Their Own.

Particularly once live AFL and NRL starts, it will be a nice alternative for viewers.

Can it be stripped at 6pm? Pointless needs pulling asap.

#18

I thought this would be a flop, but as soon as they decided to make it two hours, I knew it would be a flop. One of the stupidest decisions of the year.

They were filming more episodes during the week.

Seven should have made each Ms Fisher story into two one hour episodes, shown on consecutive weeks.
