#21

I agree that the program’s scheduling was appalling. However, I’m not convinced that it would have been a ‘hit’ if it was scheduled elsewhere due to the telemovie format. Think it would have had a chance if it was a ‘traditional’ one hour series

#22

Probably

#23

I feel Rove is wasted on a cheap panel show. He’s probably more suited to doing a show like Sunday Night Takeaway. Pair him with someone like Gorgi Coghlan or Gretel Killeen.

#24

They’ve already announced he’s doing a Saturday night variety show later in the year.

#25

Yeah almost forgot that. Isn’t that until later in the year though?

Hopefully that show will be better than the pilot week performance. 10 really need some decent alternatives on weekends.

#26

I feel like Rove is so 10 years ago. I’m not sure he really has much appeal anymore as a TV host.

#27

I like him but from a ratings POV I agree he’s past his used by date.

However I feel like he is the only presenter who can do well in variety shows. It’s just that his talents isn’t used in the right places. Rove isn’t Adam Hills and 10 should know that. Keeping him on variety is probably better than having him host a Spicks and Specks ripoff.

Plus I think 10 would be exposing him for as long as The Project stays on 10.

#28

The problem (IMO) is the content, it looks and feels a half baked ‘movie show’ and is clearly younger oriented. Go back to films of the golden age, get regular oldies on the teams and make it seem like an actual movie quiz show, not a giggle fest. Many movie buffs (ah hem!) wouldn’t watch more than 10min, I’m very patient however but nothing better this season so far, in fact poorer I think.

#29

Makes me smile seeing that Friends is still doing well on GO — top 5 in each of the multichannel demos.

#30

The 7:30 pm slot is now allowed to show M rated content so there is no problem with putting Gogglebox there. After all that’s the slot it airs in on Foxtel.

#31

They might be able to but the question is, do they want to? Viewers may complain about having crude content early in the evening. We just saw Nine censor episodes of MAFS this week to make them PG because they were worried that the content was damaging their reputation.

#32

Sav makes a true point, but it’s this one from J Bar I agree with and was also thinking

#33

They only censored the Sunday episode because it airs at the earlier time of 7 pm.

#34

That’s no what the Executive Producer said. He said “mostly” the Sunday PG episode but not only.

“It is true we have decided to pull back some editing, mostly though to do with Sunday night because of the PG rating,”executive producer John Walsh [told the Daily Telegraph].

“There has been a lot of discussion around the (swearing) and how we deal with that. There was a lot of thought given to how much of that we showed. There was a robust internal discussion about that.”

A Nine representative said the network would continue to monitor the content.

Strong growth for Ms Fisher as expected but it won’t be enough to save it. The BVOD ratings aren’t that good.
