#2

No surprises with the mediocre showing for Ms Fisher Murder Mysteries. Demos were also low, ranking 14th in 25-54. Big recovery for Gogglebox featuring the I’m A Celebrity final and their best episode of this series so far. Nine’s Australian Crime Stories flops on debut. Show Me The Movie does OK in demos but misses the top 20.

#3

Well the good news for Seven is that they won a night and Home and Away plus Miss Fisher helped make that happen. The bad news is the Ms Fisher number. It could and should have been higher. The timeslot is appalling and Seven have again failed to launch a big hit because of their sheer stupidity.

#4

Below average debut for Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries, skewing pretty old too. Next week is the last “footy free” Thursday for Seven before the NRL season starts, so Seven will be hoping Ms Fisher’s ratings will improve.

#5

I don’t think anyone will be surprised with those ratings for Ms Fisher Murder Mysteries because we all said it would struggle when it was announced as a two hour show. And then the Thursday timeslot following an underperforming Home and Away triple.

I guess swapping the nights for Show Me The Movie didn’t help. The audience went missing between The Project and Gogglebox. It’s not like Young Sheldon or Home & Away are setting the world on fire.

#6

Ms Fisher would’ve done better in a 7:30/8:00 slot and only half an hour per week. The show appears quite fresh compared to the ABC but the premise is still the same.

10 rebounds slightly with Gogglebox back on Thursday. Proving that people will still watch TV later at night when there’s good shows out there.

#7

Viewers have really abandoned that 7.30pm spot on Ten even when the other networks don’t ahv emuch competition. To think a couple of weeks ago Celeb was able to get 800k in that slot. It shows the pulling power of Gogglebox though that it can still rate with a poor lead in.

#8

If they moved Googlebox to 7.30 it would help them launch an 8.30 show and boost the peformance for longer in the evening. The Googlebox lead in is being wasted.

#9

Not sure that H&A underperformed last night. It seemed to do quite well in the demos. Also, not sure that 10’s audience went missing between the Project & Gogglebox. It was MIA until Gogglebox.

#10

Won its timeslot.

#11

Massive win for 7.

What show could they currently launch at 8:30?

#12

I’m not sure they would want to mess with moving Gogglebox to an earlier timeslot. It has always worked where it is.

#13

Unsurprising that other than 10, they were the only one with some competitive programming in Ms Fisher. Nine running double Young Sheldon basically means that they’ve given up on Thursdays until Thursday Night Football returns.

Imagine what Seven would’ve got last night if MKR was running.

#14

They could flip Show Me the Movie and Googlebox so Movie could potentially grow with a bigger lead in than The Project can offer. Going forward they will have Four Bedrooms and My Life is Murder which would ideally get strong lead in support when launching in an 8.30 slot.

#15

Be honest it would probably rate around 200k at 8:30 as well. Seems a bit pointless to move Gogglebox around when it is building on its lead in and doing well.

#16

Hoping that the poor result for Australian Crime Stories sees a reduction in the number programs in this oversupplied genre.

#17

But they would then probably have to censor all the f-bombs at 7.30pm. Maybe some of the adult content too.

#18

Show me the movie was never going to rate - it is not a good show. Ten would have been better off leaving changing rooms there in the hope it would build an audience.

As @blackbox has pointed out - 10, who normally would leave things where they are, have definitely gone into panic stations.

#19

I’ve heard expletives on MAFS so don’t see an issue. I accept the stability argument and don’t mess with what’s working but still think hit shows have been moved before and it’s fine to do it so long as you don’t keep doing it over and over.

#20

Do they drop f-bombs at 7.30pm? Wouldn’t think so.
