Another win for Seven in network shares as Nine has the number one channel for the third consecutive day. The difference was again 7Mate’s share that was its highest for 5 days. Seven dropped 2 from last Thursday while Nine was up 1. 10 picked up some extra viewers with the final of The Bachelor delivering its best Thursday share in 13 weeks.

Seven won the AFL markets with Nine ahead in Sydney and Brisbane. 10 finished second in Perth. Seven narrowly won 25-54 (1.6 separated the three commercial networks) while 10 won 16-39 by 6.

In a small consolation for an underperforming series, The Bachelor managed a season high for the grand final. However, the 629,000 for the final decision and 591,000 for the rest of the show were the lowest season final results for the franchise recorded. They compared to last year’s 879,000 and 694,000 the previous worst performing season.

Otherwise Seven News was back to number one with Home and Away performing well. The final Thursday night NRL game for the season was underwhelming.

So was it the worst season ever?

How can this be possible? if it achieved its highest figure then it will help the average figure wont it?

Also, with those numbers, although lower than previous seasons, this show wont be going anywhere…ten need it and have little to replace it with.

There is definately a place for it but maybe for 8:45pm over 8 -10 episodes, 1 hour. It’s still competitive in demos and does okay online, but it is waning big time.

Next year maybe get some late 30’s early 40’s and change the dynamic to divorced looking for a second chance.

Too late to please any advertisers who signed up and told this, and instead they got, that.

A very unstable audience at breakfast with the Today Show all over the place. Encouraging signs for them though.

Again!

RE: The Bachelor

In terms of overnight TV ratings, yes. But as ekane said, it is doing OK in demos and online.
