After coming very close on two days this week, 10 managed a second place on Thursday both main channel and network share. Seven won all markets with its best share of the week. 10 won the three key demo groups and was second everywhere but Sydney.

Gogglebox improved for the season final with the show’s highest audience in 7 weeks, up 90k from last week while The Bachelorette lifted to the highest audience since launch last Wednesday.

Seven won off the back of news and triple Home and Away plus late night shares from their movie. Nine’s RBT was 60,000 lower than the most recent episode as Love Island lost ground.

Nine’s network share dropped 3.8% from last Thursday with Love Island the main culprit. Another repeat of Fifty Shades Darker was no match for Gogglebox and Wonder Woman movie.

And you wonder why RBT was renewed.

Good night for 10. It is funny how this sort of light entertainment does a lot better than drama. I wonder if 10 could extend one more night next year of light entertainment - perhaps Tuesday nights.

RBT was new episodes in Sydney and Brisbane and repeats elsewhere.

Thursday’s have been handed back to 10 post 7.30pm. The increase from The Bachelorette to Gogglebox is impressive.

Survivor: Island of the Idols is doing well for Go in demos.

Impressive audience for 10 after 8:30pm last night.

Big switch off after Gogglebox for the Playing For Keeps encore, not even the high rating lead-in could deliver it much of an audience though I’m sure when you ad in encores, time-shifting and BVOD together it won’t look too bad.

Celebrity Name Game was low last night, wonder how long 10 will leave it there for before they make another move on the 6pm time slot.

@TV.Cynic I know it hasn’t been a week yet, but does Peach seem to be benefiting from the addition of Friends to their early evening schedule? Seinfeld seems to still be doing ok for them in the demos.

Yes. 10 Peach is up 1 share point in 25-54 and 1.5 in 16-39 for the week to date compared to last week - currently ranked 3rd multichannel in the demos (ahead of SBS main channel).

Week to date:
Seven 25.4%
Nine 27.8%

Yes compared to last week, aside from Monday, Peach is up .3 or over each night. That could just be down to weaker competition elsewhere, rather than actual higher ratings.

7pm timeslot dropped last night. The bonus i suppose it’s The project maintains its audience from the year so it’s a much smaller drop than 7/9/ABC, but Name Game is really damaging now. Shift it to Peach and get some Bold and Beautiful in at 6pm.
I used to be against Bold at 6 as it had a big 4:30 audience least in to news but that’s not the case anymore.

That was tried once (maybe twice actually) but it was a massive failure. You can’t expect that afternoon audience will watch it at 6pm when they normally watch something else. Viewers didn’t follow it to a new slot.

Will Mom do much for 10Peach next year in the ratings, I wonder, as I don’t think it does well on 9?

Doubt it. Other similar comedies they have acquired have struggled. Especially the ones like this which aren’t actually funny.

It’ll probably be relegated to a late night slot.

Interesting then that Seinfeld (now in later timeslots) made the Top 5 multi-channel key demos, but Friends in the earlier timeslots and more publicised recently didn’t.

I just think they are trying to make the channel a comedy/sitcom channel. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them pick up Big Bang when the rights expire.

When i was in the USA for a month across different states, MOM was a great show to watch with episodes spread across the day (used to watch them around 2-3am from a night out) and I’m sure it’ll be great to watch her too in sync. Excited to see it come to 10PEACH

Nah. I wouldn’t think so. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That was in December 2008 - Jan 2009 which wasn’t really a good time of the year to test that out properly so I don’t see why they couldn’t try that again. It is a very different TV landscape now and it would probably pull a bigger 6pm audience than Celeb Name Game. Maybe 4.30pm is a more suitable slot for a gameshow.

I know it was and that’s why I’d say no back then (the shows before and after it had way bigger ratings for the 6pm airings) because the show was pulling 500k at 4:30pm. That’s not the case now however, where it seems to pull 150-220k.

It’s not providing the boost Ten news used to get, No 1 from 4:30pm, with Ten News more often No3 now across the hour.

Is Seven News Melbourne going win the year after this week?
