10 got a boost for its Thursday share with the main channel in double figures for the first Thursday in five weeks. Seven and Nine were steady as 10’s gain was at the expense of public broadcasters ABC and SBS.

The viewers followed the football codes with Nine above 30% winning Sydney and Brisbane while in Melbourne Seven topped 40% and was nearly there in Perth as well.

10’s demo share reflected its improved total people number, ranking second in the two youngest demos and coming within 1 point of beating Nine in 25-54.

Both football codes posted higher audiences with the AFL number the highest since the first week of the return of the competition.

SBS’s War of the Worlds clearly didn’t resonate with last night’s episode sinking to 41st place after the premiere made the top 20 last week. Celebrity Gogglebox at 9pm this week ranked 24th.

The AFL was No.2 program in Perth behind Seven News, even though the match involved neither West Coast or Fremantle.
First time since March that Seven News Melbourne averaged over 400,000 viewers for the entire hour.

If you do an article today (or not) it’d be interesting to see 7mate’s share in Perth vs main channels, 115k for the AFL 6:10pm - 8:29pm Perth time even though two interstate teams. I imagine it was massive.

Looks like Seven News Melbourne managed to beat Nine News Melbourne.
At 6:00 Nine News Brisbane was beating Seven only by a small margin, but at 6:30 the gap widened a bit more.

Average total viewer figures for Bach in Paradise. Would be interesting to see the catch up figures next week. It is clearly a show that does well online which networks do love and is extremely important for the future. I do just wonder if next year 10 can place this in an 8:30 slot rather than the 7:30 slot. This year I can understand things have changed but next year they really should be looking at placing this in that later slot.

With B in P able to top two of the key demo groups you can see why the value of sports rights is now being questioned. Sending a group of immature singles to Fiji for a few weeks seems like an economically viable alternative, even if total people numbers aren’t flash.

This is something I say about 10. It does need to work on its Saturdays, but it gets a 8-10% share on Fridays with one new show and the rest Encores. Seven and Nine get higher shares but at a very costly rate.
Not that I agree encores should fill a schedule.

It is just a pity it doesn’t air on Fridays and Saturdays.

I’m not usually a fan of these dating shows , so not too fussed about the average numbers for The Bachelor in Paradise. Although, i did think it would have rated a little higger (in total people) judging by the ads they aired.

Seven was the winner thanks to the AFL.

Ways a worry when Seven’s Arvo news makes the top 20

I was expecting a slight increase for Bachelor in Paradise last night. It was a much better episode. It at least is topping the key demo.

I think you’re right here. It’s an 8:30 show to value add to whatever was playing at 7:30. This year it has been moved around and now anchoring two nights due to COVID. They would’ve had no content so this is filling that despite the low total people and shares. 10 will now struggle for the rest of the year on most nights.

When is Gogglebox (the normal Australian version, not the “oh, who the f*** cares?!” Celebrity US one currently on-air) expected to return? Because that’s usually a decent enough rater for Ten on Thursday nights…of course when not competing against football on Seven & Nine.

This has been the pattern all week. 9 slightly ahead each night.

It will be interesting to see the catch up figures next week for War of the Worlds, given the big consolidated increase the first two episodes enjoyed last Thursday night.
