Seven took out Thursday by an 11 point margin in network shares. That saw Nine (without NRL) drop to its lowest Thursday share of the survey while 10 posted its second lowest Thursday result. ABC, however, was up 2 points while SBS slipped 1 point.

NRL markets were won by Nine with Seven ahead in AFL territory including a +40% result in Adelaide.

News numbers were up across the board with Nine Afternoon News making the top 20.

MasterChef was the only prime time entertainment show in the top 10 with 556,00 down 40k from the previous Thursday.

For ABC, Foreign Correspondent was up from its season debut episode while Q+A that followed benefitted and made its best audience since March.

Seven basically clawed back half of its loss on Wednesday. The AFL was the No.2 program in Adelaide behind Seven News.

Seven News also won over the hour in Melbourne as the lead-out to the AFL.

Remarkable that four channels had the same share (2.0%) last night.

What’s with the H&A coding? Seeing as it was on 7two in Melbourne are they coding these eps individually yet coding them as one episode on the main channel?

There are also 2 codings on the main channel - have been doing that for a few weeks.

Thanks. I hadn’t noticed.

Lower than expected tbh, considering Melbourne’s high numbers in recent weeks (still in lockdown last night) and last night was a nail biter all the way through.

I couldn’t see that in the top 20 list. Maybe it’s me.

Sory, it just missed out. I was looking at a list that didn’t have Home and Away as two entries.

And why has the AFL not made Thursday night football a permanent fixture all year round? Those figures and the crowd numbers should justify it.

I think it has something to do with player welfare.

Sunrise was about 45,000 ahead of Today that was 40,000 ahead of News Breakfast that dropped from Wednesday’s numbers. In a familiar pattern, Sunrise won all markets except Brisbane where it ranked third. Today won in SEQ with a very good number equal to its Melbourne audience.

What would playing on a Thursday do to their welfare?

So players have enough day’s break between games.

For example, if they play on a Saturday one week and then a Thursday the next, that’s only a five-day break.

Aren’t 5 day breaks allowed now?

They are, but not that popular amongst players, and if you make Thursday nights permanent all year round, that just means more frequent five day breaks and potentially some four day breaks.

Maybe because of the recent massive power outage in Melbourne suburbs due to the storm

Somebody people in Melbourne have to use generators
