The Traitors

I think the other part of that is that those you have listed aren’t necessarily what you might consider traditional reality contestants, either. Stephen Fry, for example, has been quite vocal about previously turning down offers to appear on other shows, but chose to do Traitors as he felt the format was right. You look at the list for the next season here, and the majority are past reality show contestants. It just means you are going to get more of the same.

The number is higher than the 2023 Final in total tv consolidated that was just under 500,000 so higher than the episode average for sure.

It seems to go ok with the Us version with their list of survivor, bachelor, big brother players. Give it a go. These people have experience with reality tv and know how to do confessionals and milk the moments.

They might be super big names in Australia but they are intelligent strategic game players who make for compelling viewing

There’s plenty of interest in the UK Celebrity Traitors. Whether that carries through to the revived Australian version (which it didn’t in its original run) is something we’ll have to wait to see.

I think it could have generated genuine interest and buzz if they’d gone for intelligent, strategic big name stars who are not typical reality tv fodder.

UK version is the biggest show the UK has seen in years generating incredible ratings and buzz. It’s a must see show which the whole country is talking about. Aus version could achieve this with the right cast but I don’t think the current crop will do this

Also, the 830 showing is picking up just as many viewers as the 730, which makes it look that much stronger (im going by the delayed linear and catch up figures recorded based on those showings). But that statement above basically suggests there is another 120k watching before it goes to air to take it 500k ….or they are including all the encores, if there are any.

It’s actually great family viewing. Perfect for audiences young and old alike.

While all these British personalities are well known and interesting, many are not very good at the game! Perhaps the ex-reality type personalities might be better at the strategy.

Exactly. The UK Celebrity cast are terrible at the game. It has not been a good season at all gameplay wise.

But it’s been entertaining to watch how bad they are at it

Can someone please assist me? Do the contestants not sleep in the castle? Whenever they have breakfast they show cars driving them into the compound. I thought they slept there?

I think Claudia said the contestants slept in separate cabins outside the castle.

Both the US and UK versions have contestants sleep elsewhere. (I think a contestant has said that it’s a hotel about 30 minutes away)

The UK version is honest about this arrangement, the US version still implies that they sleep at the Castle.

The old Aussie version had them sleep in the Hotel and was honest about it.

The contestants reportedly stay in a nearby hotel and in separate rooms.

Thanks all!

Although they’re always shown being driven to the castle in the morning for breakfast, the opposite is never shown - getting driven back to their hotel at night. I think because the 3 Traitors would have to stay at the castle (or get driven back again) to film their late-night Traitor meeting where they decide who’s getting murdered.

Stephen sort of referred to it at one of the round tables, that the Traitors must get less sleep than everyone else.

I think you see them walk out the front door.

Again contrast the US version where they are seen going up stairs.

The Celebrity Traitors UK finale episode has aired a day early in both Canada and New Zealand.

It was originally meant to have already aired in the UK by now but BBC postponed the finale due to “scheduling conflicts” and the international distribution didn’t get the memo and went ahead before the UK airing!
