The Project (2015-Sept 2020)

I see Eddie Maguire appeared on The Project to refute claims that he is promoting an erectile dysfunction product. Will he be the next to jump ship to Ten? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Funny, was thinking the same thing. It would be a homecoming of sorts.

Cause apparently Peter was too expensive on public holiday. Steve Price is a moron. He can easily afford public holiday rates from his swanky cafes every day of the week but saying we should abolish them all together. Then Walleed at least finally had a point about it not being about the rates but passing them onto the workers. Price replies with if that was happening people would walk and find another job, he obviously doesn’t know how hard it is to get any job for young workers now who just get exploited. Over entitled talking head.

WOT are you on about?

The story was that businesses are charging customers a surcharge for public holidays but penalty rates for workers on public holidays have been abolished. So, workers at some cafes and restaurants have complained that they don’t get the surcharge passed on in their pay and don’t get penalty rates.

Steve Price came on and defended the businesses and had a go at the workers.

Oh missed the story. Thanks for the heads up

No worries.

I think Pricey was going off his head as usual without checking his facts. At one stage he said something about workers getting paid double time and a half on public holidays. I don’t think that actually happens anywhere but anyway…

I know some places pay time and half on public holidays and some pay nothing more. They treat it as a normal shift.

This guy lacks relevance and doesn’t make sense. Some employers (and managers within those organisations) tell staff that they must work if they are rostered by management. Generally speaking, an employee can reasonably refuse to work on a public holiday. There are obvious exceptions, most noteably medical and other emergency service staff (such as police, paramedics and fire fighters)

Imagine the uproar if every were told they must work on a public holiday, especially if the government decided it was business as usual for School and the law profession. There would more than likely industrial action on a grand scale.

Getting a job and keeping it, is harder than the paid mouth piece that is Steve Price, that guy makes as much sense as Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen and Pauline Hanson

The General Retail award is ordinary time plus ordinary time and a quarter, the same with hospitality workers

Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer.

A Very Special Edition of The Project.

Tuesday 1 May at 6.30pm.

To coincide with the launch of Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer 2018, The Project will present a very special night of comedy, music, challenges, stunts and surprises, this Tuesday 1 May from 6.30pm, only on TEN and WIN Networks.

Straight from the Coachella music festival, Portugal. The Man, will perform their top 10 global hit, Feel It Still. With a little help from Peter Helliar, Steve Price will deliver a hilarious stand-up routine and Tommy Little will perform a surprising stunt. Plus a special performance from Australian singing sensation Katie Noonan, The Living Room’s Amanda Keller joins the panel and Dave Hughes returns to co-host.

Brain cancer kills more people under the age of 40 than any other cancer and more children in this country than any other disease. Approximately 1,600 Australians are diagnosed each year and of them, it is estimated 1,300 will die from the disease. Currently there is no cure. Survival rates have not changed in 30 years and brain cancer research has been severely underfunded for decades.

Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer campaign has raised $4.5 million for vital brain cancer research since 2015 via the sale of her beanies at www.CarriesBeanies4BrainCancer.com

The 2018 campaign is aiming big, with a goal to raise a further $5 million for vital brain cancer research. This year the Australian Government is committed to matching the fundraising dollar for dollar up to $5 million.

Join Carrie and the rest of The Project team at 6.30pm on Tuesday 1 May and help raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause.

Wow! The campaign is getting sponsorship with prizes now.

There was a car last year also, same car and dealership if I’m not mistaken.

Interesting if they’re back in Sydney since it’s reported HYBPA? is moving to Sunday nights which would mean its likely shot on Saturday’s instead, or will they just do all the post editing the same day?
