I don’t want to say too much, but I have issues with the final episode. Not so much the ending but the way that they got there.

How long before it would be appropriate to discuss the final episode? I realise the series only dropped yesterday and it’s being broadcast weekly so don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but definitely interested in your thoughts @TelevisionAU and I’m sure other members will have as well especially on what happens in the final episode.

Probably most likely after the final episode has it’s FTA airing

that’s probably wise

Yes. I don’t want to binge the whole thing at once. I think it has to be after the TV screening.

ABC News website has posted an article on how accurate season three’s depiction of the late 80s is. It has “an absolute minimum of spoilers”.

I agree about the final episode, I was disappointed with everything after the car crash, it also felt rushed and think they needed at least another episode to tell it all properly.

Episode 4

Sunday 23 February 8.30pm

As Public Eye climbs ever closer to News At Six’s deteriorating numbers, Dale (Sam Reid) teams up with Rob (Stephen Peacocke), pushing the CEO to replace Lindsay (William McInnes).

Rob makes a controversial comment on air when discussing Apartheid sports boycotts. Soon after, Helen (Anna Torv) is approached by Aboriginal activist Lynus Preston (Hunter Page-Lochard) with a story – Rob may claim there’s no racism in Australian sports, but Lynus knows Rob’s black teammates don’t necessarily see it that way.

Interesting there was a current affairs program on channel ten in 1988 and 1989 called Public Eye too

Did it finish third in the ratings?

Episode 3 is outstanding.

I’m loving the show, but I swear past years the show has been 1080p on iview, this year its awfully compressed and blurry. Its a shame :frowning:

I thought it was my tv / internet.

Perhaps theyve done it for the effect of the time period? (which doesnt fit the previous seasons not doing it).

I know Iview can be a bit “select” with what they run in Full HD, I just thought based on the popularity of the series it would be on there in HD. The dark scenes are incredibly pixellated, its awful

Just finished bingeing season 3, enjoyed it as alway. One of the best Australian shows ever but I have to say I was disappointed with the final episode and the ending. Seemed a bit rushed to me.

Ive enjoyed this show a lot. But this last episode is… something.

There is no way an anchor would go on air drunk, unable to speak and looking so dishevelled.

Michael Lucas posted wedding photos of Noelene and Rob on social media tonight.

Series 3, Episode 5

Sunday 2 March 8.30pm

As Public Eye reaches number one, Helen (Anna Torv) is blindsided by a front-page article revealing her history of mental health struggles and institutionalisation. As she considers how to respond, she focusses her energy on a special report about the closing of mental health institutions across the country, unsure whether her personal story has a place in the report.

Meanwhile, Dale (Sam Reid) spirals under the pressure of Lindsay’s (William McInnes) blackmail, leading to a reckless confrontation at the backyard wedding of cameraman Brian (Rhys Mitchell) and makeup artist Cheryl (Maria Angelico).

Just finished the season. I agree with others it was very rushed in the end. Easily could have been another 2 episodes, but hey they have all only been 6 eps.

Happy to chat once the finale has broadcast on TV. Have to say I’ve really loved this series and I am sad it’s finished now. Kudos to Anna and Sam. What a journey.
