Yeah, it coincided with the return of Spotlight. With the program now apparently done for the year (a bizarre thing in itself), it seems like it means The Latest won’t air on Sunday nights anymore either.

It’s all just a bit too red and angled for me personally. I really preferred the first iteration of this show before they meddled with it too much, it actually felt distinctly different. That was even at a time where the rest of the news look was well overdue for a refresh too.

Angela Cox presented a very early edition of The Latest tonight. Mark Riley did a piece to camera with the backdrop and he and Angela addressed each other but it wasn’t clear where he was. Probably pre-recorded.

Not sure that was on the screen when I was watching. Chris Reason was standing across from a bomb shelter, and it may have been a bit later than that. I was actually doing something else at the time, and got it wrong, does it matter? I’ve already been corrected once.

Yeah it only came up after he started running. not sure why they wouldn’t display it for the whole cross if it was live.

Good to see it live tonight at such a late time (Judging by the bug and blooper at the start).
Gem is so underrated! Hopefully we will see her on the morning news if she returns to work.
