It is a shame they always go for Emma. Guy Montgomery, Ray O’Leary or Lloyd Langford would be better out of their existing comics when Tim isn’t there. Or even Tony Martin or Ed Kavalee always work well in this sort of role.

No discredit to Emma - she was brilliant on Thank God You’re Here and Im glad shes back for the season final - but her style isn’t as good in a main hosting role.

I was surprised at the ratings of The Cheap Seats last night. I thought they might have dropped with Tim’s absence. Emma didn’t add a lot. The show was probably saved by the guests especially Ed, though of course the writers deserve a lot of credit.
