The Bachelor Australia

Sam Armytage appeared on 2GB this morning, and told Ben Fordham that she left Seven after 20 years, because “I just had enough”.

Sam was on Today last Monday not this morning.

Don’t those shows already exist like The Farmer Wants a Wife? Even in the older age bracket 9 did My Mum, Your Dad as well. This needs to be different. The Bachelor casting has never been about average joe’s. I’m not so keen on Mark Bouris but having someone that’s been successful would suit the Bachelor brand more than just some average joe.

I saw this promo during Love Island and assumed it had been catered to that younger Love Island audience to nominate their parent or grandparent. I think generally though the older generation would be less likely to put themselves forward for a show like this, so encouraging people to nominate someone that they know seems like a reasonable approach.

With The Golden Bachelor on top of Love Island and MAFS, Nine has all key adult demographics covered for relationship shows.

Channel 7 is too woke?

Of the 5 channels , they are definitely the most old school. With that attitude, surprised she didn’t go to Sky News.

That’s not what she said at all.

She said Australia has gotten too woke. Nothing about Channel 7 being woke.

I heard an ad on 3AW earlier tonight with Sam doing the voiceover.

Have Georgia Love and Lee split?

Others replied to the comment alleging the couple had broken up, with Love herself replying shortly after to hose down the rumours.

“We didn’t, actually,” Love commented.

“Best to stop speculating, least of all on my own page. If I had anything to tell you all, I would do so myself.”

Towards the end of the year is ‘mature’ dating series The Golden Bachelor with casting yet to be finalised. A celebrity bachelor is unlikely, but is not ruled out.

“We’re definitely actively not going down the path of celebrity. But if an individual pops up that makes sense, we might choose to go there. At the moment the first casting session hasn’t happened,” Turner confirms.

“We’ll be presented with possible Golden Bachelors and then go through the process. But it isn’t until Q3 or Q4. We will not be scheduling it against other dating shows.”

Turner also indicates host Samantha Armytage is not about to join the Today show.

“No. She’s come onto Nine to do The Golden Bachelor… it’s an interesting show because you’ve got a 10 franchise with a Seven talent coming to Nine. So it’s a Free to Air triple threat!”

…I…don’t even know what this means

He thinks nabbing a Ten show using a Seven personality and sceening it on Nine will attract fanboys from all three networks.

The Sunday Telegraph reports that Abbie Chatfield’s 65-year-old mother Laura will be a contestant on The Golden Bachelor.

The paper also reports that the show could be filming at Tresco in Elizabeth Bay.

Golden Bachelor

Rumour has it the late-in-life lonely hearts club is already experiencing production delays.

Well, sources claimed there was a slight snafu as the series’ first pick to be their mature leading man… he, well, died. Just days out from filming.

We asked Nine about the rumours and were told that, while production did change the show’s leading man at the eleventh hour, fortunately, it wasn’t because of a sudden death.

The original pick, we are reassured, is very much alive and well.
