Ladies In Red Luck Out On Non-Elimination Leg.

Tiffany And Cynthia Race Another Day On The Amazing Race Australia.

Tired and weary Racers made their way to picturesque Santorini for the fifth leg of The Amazing Race Australia.

Tensions rose between teams with Crystal and Reem refusing to help Angel and Frankie with the weight of some seafood at the very first Detour.

But friction amongst teams didn’t stop there when teammates Chelsea and Jamus decided to spend their Leg Money on fuel, not realising that money was actually for the cable car to get them to their next challenge.

With other teams helping Chelsea and Jamus through by spotting them the cash, the cable car took Teams to the base of a cliff only to then navigate a donkey and luggage back up the 500 plus stairs to get their next clue.

At the Road Block, Parkour was the name of the game and Flick and Gabby shot off in first place, only to get lost leading to Heath and Toni to land on the mat with Beau as the winners of this Leg.

With terrible navigation skills being their downfall, Tiffany and Cynthia brought up the rear but lucky for them, it was a non-elimination round and they lived to race another day.

Tomorrow night, Greek Week continues with teams heading to Arachova and an unprecedented blizzard.

Mullets Make A Mad Dash And Miss By Milliseconds.

Sam And Stu From Western Australia. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

Arriving in Arachova Greece to freezing temperatures, Teams raced to participate in their own Big Greek Wedding, suiting up and dressing in white while pinning 10,000 Euro to a the bride’s dress. Once successfully spun around three times without dropping cash, they received their next clue.

With a blizzard brewing and the ski slope closed for safety, Teams had to pivot from dropping balls into a target from a chairlift to building a snowman. Sounds easy right? Wrong!

Ice is not a snowman’s friend and despite best efforts, all Teams struggled to make their snowman the correct height.

After a bus ride back into town, the Teams were released in order they completed the snowman challenge and it was then a two kilometre foot race to Beau at the Pit Stop.

Pako and Mori checked in first with Sam and Stu struggling with the final run and landing on the mat last, eliminating them from the race.

On Sunday night, it’s time to head to Turkey and let us say, it’s absolutely no delight as teams spar, accidents happen and fears with food faced.

The Amazing Race Australia. Continues Sunday At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

Tonight was a rare episode with no detours and no roadblocks. I think the blizzard on top of Mount Parnassus forced the crew to put on plan B (snowman task).

They did actually say that. The blizzard prevented them from climbing the mountain to complete task so they completed a different task at the bottom of the mountain.

Looks like TAR is going to be a show that rates low in linear numbers buts gets a big boost in catch-up - so looking like people’s second choice - watch The Block on the night and TAR later.

Another +50% increase in total tv viewing.

Promo for the Sunday episode in Turkey - looks like guest host Scott Tweedie would be introduced to the teams via a robot (remember Beau and several crew members had to self-isolate due to a small number of positive COVID cases among the production team).

35 euros wouldn’t exactly cover that.

The allocation tends to cover taxis, public transport fares and minor discretionary purchases (maps, snacks etc)

If only it was a permanent change. Beau is excruciatingly bad; his schtick might appeal to the all-important newborn to 5YO demographic but I doubt anyone over the age of 5 finds him amusing.

Also hard to believe nobody in production pulled him up on his cringeworthy hugging of teams at the pitstop. Hopefully catching COVID puts an end to that.

Worse, despite returning overseas, this season’s challenges are as boring as last year’s. If build a snowman is seriously the best they can come up with in a country as culturally rich as Greece, it demonstrates the total amateur-hour of production. There wasn’t even a penalty for the team who placed last on the previous leg.

No wonder ratings have dropped… though it wouldn’t surprise me if last season did irreparable damage to the brand.

I’m surprised that they weren’t concerned enough to adhere to social distancing especially after one of the teams dropped out due to Covid. Same goes for all the teams hugging the random judges of their tasks. Surely anyone could have seen that was risky.

Beau did some voiceover from his hotel room in Greece for tonight’s episode after he tested positive to COVID.

And another team has dropped out and has to isolate due to Covid.

In quarantine tonight.

Middle Eastern Mates Make It To The Mat Too Late.

Crystal And Reem From New South Wales. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

With Teams leaving Greece and heading to Izmir, Turkey (now known as Türkiye), they left behind one crucial element in the form of host Beau Ryan, who was isolating due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Forging ahead, Teams hit the ground running and got their shimmies on with a modern twist on a belly dance, complete with floating Isis wings.

Hubbies Pako and Mori left in first place, racing to their Magic Carpet Ride Detour unaware Angel and Frankie were hot on their heels.

Despite a set back with a fender bender in their cab, Angel and Frankie rocked their carpet ride and raced with Pako and Mori to the Road Block featuring… sheep intestines.

When Kelly and Georgia got to the challenge, vegetarian Georgia refused to take a penalty, handled the sheep guts and then downed a cooked plate of it without missing a beat.

Carrying Gerek aka Turkish bagels, Kelly and Georgia pointed out Crystal and Reem weren’t completing the challenge properly so they had to start again, sending them to the end of the pack and getting eliminated from The Race.

Tomorrow night, Teams Turkey travels continues with evil eyes, injuries and a lot of in team clashes.

The Amazing Race Australia. Continues Tomorrow At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

The robot who greeted the teams at the pitstop was a Turkish humanoid named Mini ADA.

In fairness, that was clearly pulled together at short notice after a blizzard interrupted whatever they had planned for the top of the mountain

Scientific Siblings Stumble Into Last Place.

Tammy From Victoria and Vincent From Queensland. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

Continuing to travel across Türkiye, the teams were welcomed by not only an automatic car, but also with a phone containing navigation. And who said The Amazing Race Australia was hard!

Arriving to oil up and jump in a wrestling ring, Angel opted to sit out due to washing her hair the night before. Realising it was better to help Frankie, Angel’s hair became a casualty of the challenge as the pair left in first place.

Racing to make an evil eye out of glass, Claire realised how hot a glass poker really is, burning her hand. Pushing through the pain, she got the job done and was onto the next challenge with Jodie.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Jamus decided to leave their bags behind for the Detour to make sweets. A decision that cost them precious time at the Pit Stop to retrace their steps back to their car to retrieve them.

With Beau still in isolation, the one and only Scott Tweedie flew halfway across the world to step in a the Pit Stop, saying goodbye to Scientific Siblings Tammy and Vincent who couldn’t quite nail the dancing Detour.

Tomorrow night, trekking through Türkiye continues where speed is crucial as teams try to throw off four time first place winners Angel and Frankie.

The Amazing Race Australia. Continues Tomorrow At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

Blonde Buddies Bungle Their Race Leg.

Morgan And Lilli From Queensland. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

Türkiye’s Alaçati, situated on its turquoise coast was the setting for tonight’s ninth leg of The Amazing Race Australia.

Ever tried to grab an ice cream? Neither had any of the Teams and surprisingly, not as easy as it sounds when the ice cream vendor is a bit of a trickster.

With Angel and Frankie quick on their reflexes, they got a good head start and were onto the Detour to try their hand at driving a sports car on the water.

Nailing the turbo challenge, the pair were on to smash their faces into bowls of sugar to find Turkish Delight.

With Flick and Gabby hot on their heels, it was Angel and Frankie who found Scott Tweedie at the Pit Stop by mere minutes, with Moran and Lilli arriving last and ultimately eliminated from The Race.

On Sunday night, Teams head to Columbia and with two isolating Teams re-joining The Race, tensions will explode.

The Amazing Race Australia. Continues Sunday At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

There are still teams that I barely know. Normally within a day or so it’s fairly easy to bond with the teams, but when you start with 20 teams it just makes it confusing.
