Hey, That’s an edited screenshot of the 1986 anime “Maison Ikkoku”. Guess the guys at TCN have a good taste in anime.

What does ODS stand for?

Olympic Broadcasting Services

That’s OB S - they said OD S.

Operational Data Centre - I’m guessing all the audio and video for Nine News and god knows what goes in there?

Opps!

All good. I’ve got fat pudgy fingers. Bs turn into Ds and vice versa all the time.

I’m guessing it also stands for One Dennison St (North Sydney)?

Could be. Although. if it’s about data, wouldn’t be better stored at Frenchs Forest?

It would definitely be One Denison Street. That’s how they refer to the North Sydney HQ.

The term ODS predates their move to North Sydney.

And it’s also used in Melbourne

Correct, ODS is One Dennison Street in North Sydney which is the main production and corporate hub for Nine. As staff were informed in that building to no longer refer to themselves as TCN anymore since the move from Willoughby. TCN is in the past as far as Nine management are concerned.

Even though in ACMA’s eyes, and legally, they were back then, are still now, and forever will be, TCN. Fucking wankers. Always was, always will be.

It’s very odd. Seven Melbourne are still known as HSV7, long after Herald and Sun have had any stake in the station!

HSV might have been confused with Holden Special Vehicles back in the day.

Nine are just weird and stupid.

The people who work there at Seven Melbourne refer to where they work as MQT thesedays. Yes, even though the official ACMA callsign is HSV6. SBS in Melbourne has the callsign SBS7, cue the haters!
