Ten rampant relaunch speculation

Just found this thread and I haven’t been more excited since the speculation of the Southern Cross/7 and Southern Cross News/7 News Tasmania relaunches!!!

I just can’t wait to see what appears and then how WIN ruins it!

Lexington has never been wrong.

Definetly want to see a rebrand of the news, and channel itself. I have seen the numerical 10 logo so many times, it does look great (on the ads) perfect opportunity to re-identify . Wishful thinking, but hey i can dream can’t I?

Intersting about the re-branding of One, hopefully the new One rebrand wont be just a Ten2, a unique name should give it it’s appeal. Is Eleven staying as Eleven or is that getting a change too?

Everything is on table apparently. And from what I understand this will be the first significant relaunch of brand TEN for well over a decade. it’s that big.

(sure, they’ve had a font change or two, a logo style change etc…)

I like that, then they could use the theme song “Still the ONE”.

TenToo or Ten12

Wow, this is huge. Thanks for sharing it with us, mate. You certainly got us talking.

I’d like to see something that is unique and different, I kind of like teh CBS style branding as i watch CBS a lot, it would be kind of cool if they have a unique flat like that.

it is only August. so we’ve got four months of speculating… ;).

Boy I’m a tease.

Come into me. It’s Ten… Seriously satisfying. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lexington, you definetly are a tease! But it shall be an interesting four months. I actually started giving up hope that ten would do a rebrand/refresh even before CBS took over, there was nothing that stood out ot me in terms of their promots, designs etc. Although if they went back to the 1999/2000 look of the brackets and the no capslock for the first letter of the name of show… I’ll be exploding all over Jbar! for sure!

We might have to ban you from the site for the lead up to the launch - you are going to make the servers crash!

Haha, but what if he has more inside scoops? :stuck_out_tongue: how are we meant to speculate without our TenFriend? :stuck_out_tongue:

I think you need to control your Premature Celebrations. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

haha but with water not the other stuff.

Maybe have a solo Celebration beforehand. That should cool you down.

Haha if i can remember how?
I’m curious though what do you want from a ten rebrand? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not obsessed about it. I like the numerical 10 that has been used in promos but I also really like the Ten HD logo (Not the other Ten logos so much)

Either one would be fine but they need to be consistent and drop all the other variations. The Eleven and 12 logo should follow the style like Seven and Nine do.

I would also like to see a return to the days of a launch promo which had all the stars from the network on all channels perform in the promo clip.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic and tongue in cheek. As in it’s been such a long time, it’s like ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’. I wasn’t for a moment questioning seriously anything Lex was saying, I’ll always take his leaks on his word.

So I’m sorry that fell flat @Lexington (AKA Ten insider) :unamused:

Great idea making a separate thread for this discussion!

Although the current version of the Ten logo is starting to look dated (and yes, I’m even including the relatively rarely used “Ten HD” variant in that category), I’m not really sure if the numerical “10” or the mid-2000s style outline would really be the right way to go for a Late 2018 rebrand.

Re, One & Eleven: I actually wouldn’t be overly surprised if the multichannels move away from the current “channel number” brands (similar to what the ABC & SBS have done in recent years) to something more genre-specific.

Me too, although I highly doubt the general public would care to see a return of the self-serving TV network Launch Promos and Station IDs of yesteryear.
