The X factor season 1 aired on ten in 2005. Sadly it did not have any success due to channel 7’s strong dominance in ratings in early 2005.

Coincidentally it would be Seven that revived The X Factor in 2010, the year Ten dropped the axe on Australian Idol.
Seven would turn The X Factor into a ratings juggernaut until it again copped the axe in early 2017.
Off topic, but The X Factor struggled towards the end of its time on Seven - certainly that was the case for the ratings during the final season in 2016!
Also while I’m here, some friendly advice for @Super_SC and others posting screenshots from YouTube uploads in threads like this: Please give credit to the original uploaders.
I think the ratings dip began in 2015 with the introduction of judges such as Chris Isaak (who IIRC was the winning mentor) and James Blunt. Seven announced after the first live show that there would be a new season, which would prove to be its last.
That final season (seventh on Seven and eighth overall) was condensed into six or seven weeks.
Off topic but chocettes were amazing
