True, but I’d think in the current FTA market that they’d just be grateful to have a full-time job in the media as a starting point.

Why? Sharyn was axed at 7. Erin actually threw her a lifeline. There was no future at 7 for Sharyn. This is beyond the local News Director.
Just because Erin will be running the show doesn’t mean the budgets magically return and she can go on a hiring spree.
Liz probably likes the arrangement. How do we know without directly asking her?
Some experienced News Director will come in at TVQ and push it to the next level. We live in hope.

As @nationalnews said, they probably signed on to whatever conversation they had with Erin and her vision and experience and prior working together and then she goes and leaves 4 weeks later.
Not the end of the world but you would definitely feel a little shitty and potentially abandoned somewhat.

Never realised Erin Edwards had been at Seven since 2000, that’s longer than well known talents like Rebecca Maddern… Remember her name signing off reports years ago and even can picture her face, but didn’t realise it was 23 years before 10. Did she start off behind the scenes maybe before on-air reporting?

Can’t stand that format of updates, prefer the original version. I get they want to try new things but just looks weird with those side graphics.

The original rollout of the 10 News First brand looked way better graphics wise then what it does now. The half graphics/tweaks what we’ve seen over the last couple of years look rubbish. Mind you this is 10, They’ll probably go back to 10 News in a matter of time.
