Personally I think upgrades to HD are needed far more than the new sets are, especially now that ABC News are ahead of 10 News First in Melbourne and (to a lesser extent, but still) Sydney!

Doubt they ever will, but a CBSN Australia channel would be nice. Could fill a decent chunk of the schedule with the existing 5 news bulletins, the project and studio 10 and roster a presenter on during the rest of the day doing a headline news format.

Oh, so they are using YouTube still.
I remember there was a short period not too long ago where they stopped uploading.

Yeah it was just a couple of days where there was a break, and at first they weren’t uploading on weekends (likely due to resources) which extended the break in uploading but that seems to have changed of late too.
They’re live streaming news conferences on there too, but you wouldn’t really know about it. A half hour one with Daniel Andrews yesterday achieved a whole 125 views apparently.
None of their videos seem to be getting picked up by Youtube either to feature in the Breaking News section anymore, where almost all major news outlets in Australia are featured.

10 would be better served moving away from trying to do local news and do a beefed up national news that reaches more people
