Absolutely another way of using the resource. Not ideal to have Brisbane broadcast from the west but if it means fully live bulletins in Sydney and Brisbane that would be good.
There’s so many better ways to save money and utilize existing resources than 10 currently have. The place is run by monkeys.
Going off on a tangent a bit, but how about a local WA Midday bulletin too? WA Midday → Brisbane → Perth → Late
Good way of winning back Perth viewers too, leaving Nine with the only delayed 11am/12pm bulletin in WA
The set was obviously well looked after despite the almost 3 year absence of weekday usage, still looks great!
Here’s hoping 10 reconsiders their decision of this being temporary only. After all, Lachie Reid was still able to present Sport for Perth despite it originally planned to be presented in Sydney when the bulletins began to be centralised.
In another thought… with Brisbane being the Olympic city in 2032, I am not sure how 10 continue to neglect thst city and provide delayed news being broadcast from Sydney. You really need to have a local presence to get wrapped up in the vibe.
It’s not that hard hey. I really don’t understand how it’s more economical to do local news remotely. You use Mosart you could literally have one director and make the presenters roll their own autocue. The whole technical thing sending content to another city would be avoided. Local is king in Australia
I have a feeling most people won’t notice they are back in Perth without clear indication of it, as the state title strap on the title-card lost meaning when the bulletins were centralised.
I was honestly expecting to hear something along the lines of this, it would certainly make a difference.
Yes, jealous of that Perth weather balcony - it’s gorgeous. Adelaide used to have similar at Hutt St but these days they seems to have nothing with the downgraded office space.
Looked through the archives and along with upgraded cameras, it seems that the lighting has also changed.
Was warmer previously. Looks better in its current configuration.
