Don’t believe that one is new, they have a few options they seem to cycle through.
National edition tonight?
Disappointing there was no afternoon news when I switched on at 1pm. Is the cost cutting that much at 10? I thought that today would be a good day with more eyeballs free to try their product. I know 7 (and idk about 9) had morning news.
Hopefully we still receive local editions tonight
No chance.
10 have never opted to invest in Good Friday. It’s a cost saving procedure as they need to pay staff more around the country.
The Good Friday 5.00pm bulletin has always been a national bulletin. Except for in the early 2000s (around 2001/3) when 10 broadcast the local Sydney edition to rest of the country. Someone forgot to inform the Sydney director that they were broadcasting into other markets.
Tbh, I’m not sure when 10 stopped producing local news bulletins on Christmas Day and Good Friday. My guess would be around 1994 when they axed the local weekend news bulletins.
It is a national bulletin today and all weekend hosted by Ursula
Good Friday is probably a bit of a slow news day, too.
I’ve got no problems with it.
I think the ABC is also national now on Good Friday.
Seven and Nine are a little different as people go to them (all year around) for local news. It’s part of their news brand.
ABC has had a national edition since 2019 - even been a couple times over the past few years where they’ve had a national bulletin on Easter Saturday as well - also one year where SA and NT shared a Sunday bulletin on Easter Sunday.
I’ve counted three errors with 10 Brisbane tonight - wrong opening backdrop for Sharyn, missing reporter super for the election story and no link to Matt.
It’s been one minute
EDIT: Supers for interviews in Gout Gouts story came on early as well, make it four
Unusual interview with identical twins who answered questions in near perfect unison so that it sounded like an echo at some points.
Late news featuring live crosses outside of pope coverage. Good on 10.
10 has been locking in over the past few weeks. Finally.
Sydney bulletin had some technical difficulties tonight - Sandra cut to a break
Err, that doesn’t look like Vatican City.
Seems to happen quite frequently in Queensland again, supers missing, staying on screen too long, wrong people supered etc.
If only there was a local control room for the bulletin that might help a bit…
Surely it wouldn’t make a difference if Adelaide and Perth never have these issues?
