Ten Network - Programs and Schedules

I think years ago 7 Two launched with a Jay Leno talkshow in prime time and it didn’t seem to get an audience.

I know I wouldn’t watch a primetime highlights show of those programs, but that’s just me. CBS put huge chunks of both Colbert and Corden on YouTube. That’s where I watch clips of both shows, and it’s where I watch Fallon and Kimmel.

If the contestants are Daniel Andrews and Matthew Guy this could be a surprise hit

What do you mean?

Best way to swiftly kill off your dying game show is to pitch them right up against election coverage.

Hardly the same target audience.

But as you said before, if a show is shit, it will rate shit in whatever timeslot it airs in.

The problem is, even if a game show is good, even 1 hour is stretching viewers patience. I think the thing that has harmed game shows is drawing out and delaying game shows like The Chase Australia, Hot Seat and the original Who Wants To Be A Millionaire format.

Game shows on Australian Television are traditionally half hour formats. Even viewers tired of The Weakest Link quickly due to the length of the program

Doesn’t seem to hurt them really. They often rate higher than shows in prime time.

But how many game shows longer than 30 minutes in length post 6pm have actually succeeded?

I agree they burn out fast because the audiences get bored with them. There are some exceptions like HYBPA.

For Games of Games to be a success, you would have needed a modern day version of Vince Sorrenti or Graham Kennedy… Grant Denyer is too straight laced compared to those two I named and lacks a warm fun personality.

Ten must be pleased with the ratings so far for 10 Boss and also 10 Peach to an extent? Although is it really the rebranding or just the content which has been much the same when ONE/Eleven?

Also 10 Boss No 3 multi-channel last night, when usually Saturdays are dominated by Seven and Nine’s multichannels. I think we’ll see more movies each Saturday on Network 10 now (I say network as Boss has to air A League doesn’t it).

I’d say they’d be more than happy with 10Boss, but 10Peach’s performance has been underwhelming most nights in total numbers, from what I’ve seen.

And the share has been down most nights compared to previous weeks and same time last year.

Due to Graham Norton currently being on a break in the UK and Ten moving the show to Sundays, the remainder of the season will be shown one day after the UK.

Ten should air double episodes of Jamie on Wednesday.

If they did that the show would be over pretty quickly as it only has 6 episodes and they wouldnt have anything left for non rating season.

They haven’t aired it all year surely there is enough Jamie specials to air.
